"I typically do not leave reviews, but my experience with Tom Drexler Plumbing was so poor that I feel compelled to share it in hopes of preventing others from wasting their time and money. I initially contacted the company to address a leaking faucet in a spare bathroom. I was given a vague appointment window of 8 AM to 5 PM and informed that if I didn’t answer a call prior to their arrival, the technician would not show up. When the technician arrived, he spent time criticizing the company’s hiring practices rather than focusing on the repair. He determined that a full tub and shower replacement was needed, quoting over $1,000. The work could not be done the same day, requiring me to schedule another appointment. The technician arrived late and took the entire day to complete the job, spending a significant portion of time sitting on my staircase visibly exhausted. The installation was subpar—both the faucet and showerhead were protruding nearly two inches from the wall, and the showerhead was visibly crooked. The faucet and showerhead were protruding so far out they couldn't even be caulked. My wife documented the issues with photos. She sent them to me after the tech left. I immediately called Tom Drexler, informed them of the subpar work, and requested a different technician to correct the poor workmanship. A new technician arrived the following week and made the necessary adjustments. However, within four days of using the shower, a leak developed in the ceiling of the kitchen below, and our toilet began leaking from the base when flushed—suggesting possible plumbing pressure or blockage issues. I contacted the company again and scheduled yet another appointment. Despite being given the same 8 AM to 5 PM time frame, no one showed up, and I had to follow up myself to learn the technician wasn’t coming. Eventually, another technician did visit and claimed the ceiling leak was due to "residual water" and dismissed the toilet issue. When the ceiling stain continued to grow, I called again and requested a supervisor. The supervisor came a week later, concluded that the issue wasn’t related to their work, and left without offering any solutions. Altogether, I had to take four days off work to accommodate this series of visits. I now need to hire another plumber from a different company to resolve the ongoing leak. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Tom Drexler Plumbing. The quality of work, communication, and overall customer service were consistently poor throughout the entire process."

"Unbeknownst to us, our fuse box caught on fire and we were without any power. Ron and Angela arrived before the time they said they'd arrive. Ron completed the rebuilding of our fuse box in over an hour short of his estimated time of completion. They brought a generator to keep our refrigerator running - we did not loose anything from it . They also brought a battery operated fan which they lent to us for our relief from the 90+°F heat. They were professional and easygoing throughout their stay. Ron knew his way through this problem. I would definitely recommend them for any electrical work you might need."

"The service was completed successfully; the issue is that the homeowner paid to obtain a city permit in order to carry out the work. The service provider claims they requested it, but upon verification, it turns out they didn’t request anything. Now the homeowner is not responding. The homeowner needs the permit to schedule an inspection, but the problem is that she has a neurological condition that affects her perception, so she’s unable to drive and request it herself. Meanwhile, the service provider doesn’t have the documentation needed to apply for it in that state."

"The work was exceptional and surpassed our expectations. The reason for this was the skilled men who were sent. The head of the crew was Marvin and he was constantly checking the work. When something didn’t meet his standards, he showed them what needed improvement and saw to it that work met his expectations."

Their quote was very close between LCH, but what sold me on LCH was how the contractor, Keenan, communicated with me during the quote assessment, and I am so glad I decided to move forward with him. Keenan was highly communicative, ALWAYS punctual, showed up every day (for over three months), gave up-to-date updates every week, cleaned up after every shift, and on top of all that, he was really pleasant to be around. I work from home, so we interacted daily. His creative problem-solving skills amazed me. He has this great ability to provide the highest quality of work even when something unexpected comes up, which often happens in houses as old as mine. He focused on delivering my vision, never looking for shortcuts or the easy way to do things. For most people, the longer they're in business, the more they lose integrity in their work. As the years go by, I'm certain that won't be an issue for LCH. I caught Keenan standing back and looking at what he and his team had accomplished after completing the job. People like him and companies like Louisville City Handyman are rare these days. I would, and have, recommended them to everyone. As we continue to remodel our home, LCH will be top of mind."
