Allen Electric came very highly recommended and rightly so. Daniel and Dylan were early (which I LOVED!) and very courteous. They explained everything they were going to do before they did it and answered every question I had about the whole process. I knew exactly what the price was before they started even a second of work. And there were no surprises at the end. They even had to crawl into a super tight crawlspace in my basement and did it without complaint. They wore masks the whole time and floor protectors on their shoes. Frankly, this might have been the easiest time I've had with any service person ever. Thank you so much, Dylan and Daniel

I've had them out here twice because they warrantied one ground vault plug they put in and we had them work on a ceiling fan. Put light in that kind of stuff, hardwired up a thing for my stop pack. Put a heater in here and the ground vault. That's about the only thing they've done in a while. We had them put in some can lighting and fix 2 ceiling fans and to work on that ground vault was about $600 I think. I haven't had any problems. Price was average I don't think it was cheap or expensive. They had a new guy with them and they messed up the wiring on the ceiling fan. You turn it on and the light and the fan comes on. It's one of those things where I figure the next time they're out here, I'll tell them.

Electrician was good and quick to diagnose. But, the price was way too high. Charged $250 for literally 20 minutes of work. He found a bad wire in the light fixture so just replaced the one wire. He said he wished he could lower price, but they have a strict price sheet and he had to go by it.
Response from Allen Electrical Services Inc
"Our electricians are not just good, they are awesome! It is virtually impossible to have one of our wonderful CSRs take your call, provide you with a Same Day service appointment, have our certified technician remove/reinstall your dimmer, remove your ceiling fixture, locate the short, repair it and subsequently reinstall your ceiling fixture all in under 20 minutes. Initially we quoted an Up-Front price of $341.00, which was approved by you prior to performing any work at all. The cost was reduced to $223.00 because our electrician was skilled enough to rectify this issue in a timely manner. The cost for the excellent service we provided to you is very competitive. Thank you for having been a repeat customer since 2015 and best of luck to you in the future."

Initially, there were no problems. The outlet was installed and working. The electrician was polite and seemed competent. Later, another electrician came out to fix another kitchen appliance and pointed out a problem with the wiring leading to the plug - the junction was totally exposed. This may have originally been done by the previous homeowner, but Allen electrical tied into this problematic junction without mentioning it to us at all or putting a junction box around it (see picture of junction in the back of a cabinet). The other electrician was shocked that an electrician had installed the outlet without pointing out that hazard or fixing it. He commented, "I would've been fired on the spot if I ever did something like this". We contacted a supervisor at Allen Electrical to have them fix this. The same electrician came out and stated that he had not seen this junction (highly unlikely since his electrical work tied into the junction and he worked in that cabinet). He then offered to fix the problem for $200 while waiving the dispatch fee. We declined. A subsequent call to the supervisor was unreturned. We contacted a different company fix it, they said it would not have been possible to install that outlet without seeing that junction. The lack of responsiveness of this company when informed of an issue with their work means we will never use them again.

EXCELLENT. Andrew or Drew R. for short, was down to earth, friendly, professional, and very honest about cost effectiveness without sacrificing safety. I inquired about a lot of different products and he could have easily got another thousand or more out of me. Instead he took the time to explain each product and the benefits to each of them in addition to the cost. He never made me feel dumb or that I was bothering him with all my questions. Also the staff answering the phone is AAA+++. Nichole was so patient with all of my questions and took all the time in the world for me...she is tops!!!

I checked the breaker boxes but didn't see that one breaker was barely tripped. It looked like it was in the ON position. I called Allen Electrical because I used them four times in the past and they were fairly priced with good service. They have since raised their minimum price from 79 to 99 and now to $199 dollars! So it cost me $199 for them to flip a breaker. I could understand the dispatch fee of 49 dollars but they didn't perform a service and charged me an additional $150 more for something simple. Literally flipping a switch. My fault for not checking it more thoroughly, but this company used to have basic human decency. Not only has that changed, but the prices have skyrocketed. I'll be finding another company to do my kitchen and exterior outlet. Avoid Allen Electrical at all costs.

Called before coming both days. Were very respectful. Explained what they were doing every step of the way and listened to the homeowner for the work he had done himself. These guys are good!

We were concerned that we paid way too much for the work that was done! Based on other electrical companies we called afterwards, we felt these prices were almost 2 times higher. They also charge a $49.00 dispatch fee that we felt should be applied to the job if you select them to do the job. There was no mention of a senior discount which would have been appreciated. As senior citizens, we would much rather have the discount than a lightbulb filled with candy that was shipped to our house. The most distressing thing that occurred was when my husband and I were checking out the newly installed security lights. We immediately found that motion did not turn the lights on (John was still here). We were informed by John that was because we had bought lights that were not motion sensor. My husband had told John earlier the motion sensor was why we were installing them. I realize it was our fault that we picked up the wrong thing and never noticed it until John told us. His response was that he could come back later and reinstall, of course we would have to pay another $138 each. They probably would have charged the dispatch fee again too. Incidentally, they do not carry everything on their "fully" stocked trucks. I had to make a trip to Menards the day of service to buy an additional connector for the one security light to be installed or "heaven forbid" he would have to come back later. If John had been able to tell us we had the wrong lights, I could have exchanged them at the same time. I guess he did not realize it either. So is the reason that responsiveness and professionalism have been rated so low. Jeez! It was a totally distressing experience and we had to leave our home for two weeks without proper security lights.

They were supposed to label all the breakers and didn't do it properly. We didn't find out immediately that they were mislabeled. They didn't know how to put all the electrical through the wall. They ended up adding an electrical outlet. We also had them look at outlets that were not working properly. He looked at everything and said he didn't find anything wrong which was not right.

I thought these little jobs were going to be difficult but John made them look easy.  One of the lights was difficult access.  The doorbell wire was broken off beyond where I could see.
He was a little earlier than our appointment and did the work in less time than I expected.  I don't know how the job could have gone better.  The price was what I'd hoped for, but less than I expected.

From the very first phone call to the technician's departure Allen Electrical Services Inc personnel  were pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and up front about capabilities, costs and timeline.
Drew, the Technician, showed up on time fully prepared to fix the problems throughout the house.  He asked questions to ensue he understood the issues and efficiently went about fixing the problems.  He explained the cost range for fixing each of the problems based on what he would later find while doing his inspection.
Drew replaced defective breakers, checked chandelier lights, evaluated/repaired outside outlets.
He looked for the least expensive way to repair the issues while ensuring there would not be any repeated failures after he left
His vehicle was fully stocked,
Drew is a young man with an old fashion work ethics - a real pleasure to watch go about his work - he will be successful at whatever he attempts
I am a retired Army COL who has commanded 1000s of young men and women over a 27 year career. I say that only as a reference point of experience in evaluating people and their performance - Drew is well in the top 3% of the folks I have had the pleasure of working with over my span of my adult working life
I will use Allen Electrical Services Inc for any and all electrical issues I encounter -- cannot recommend them highly enough
