For example, Our Douglas Fir door lost it's beauty over the years because it faces west and the sun and weather had ruined its finish and faded the color. We had several contractors out to fix it over the last 25 years but it never was properly restored to it's original beauty. Bob Fortune from Fortume restoration explained the process of removing the old stain and varnish down to the original wood. Bob helped us with our decisions regarding colors for the restore. Their team came out and slowly stripped and sanded down the previous layers and recoated it so that now it truly is the centerpiece of our brick colonial home.

Fortune did high quality work, restoring our front doors last year, so we decided to use Fortune to restore the front of our house, fully stripping away the old paint, replacing wood rot, and repainting front. They also thoroughly pressure strip washed all sides of the house and repaint the entire house. They are meticulous, they did a great job restoring damaged areas of our old home built in 1883. The work is not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and the work was worth it.

After receiving a free quote, Sergio and his crew of 5 men just finished painting my 3-story Victorian house (with wood panelling) with 6 different colors. They first removed and replaced any rotting wood with superb carpentry work. They were meticulous in their detailed painting given the lattice, gingerbread trim, balconies, and porches with banisters and detail spindle designs around my house. They always communicated their schedule, arriving on time, and were unobtrusive, professional, respectful, and courteous. They made plans for which exits we could use to stage wet paint. While efficient with their time, they completed the job quickly. They addressed all my questions and cleaned up after they finished the job. I highly recommend their services--our house looks like a work of art and it is the envy of the street. In fact, people who walk by regularly take photos!

Tom Fortune is excellent. More than a year after Fortune Restoration painted the interior of my house, I discovered a water leak in my stucco dining room ceiling. I called Tom on his personal cell phone number that he gave me, asking for help. Without hesitation, Tom sent his crew to my house to scrap, plaster and repaint the damaged area FREE OF CHARGE. This is just incredible service and dedication to a customer. A job well done.

Fortune Restoration is as professional a service provider as I've come across in my 20+ years of home repair and maintenance. They completed 2 projects for us: (1) exterior stucco patching/brick tuckpointing/exterior painting and (2) full interior repainting. Fortune Restoration was amazing to work with. We needed our original 1929 wood windows repaired and painted on the outside of our home. Bernie was amazing to work with from day one. He outlined the scope of work I wanted his team to do and then came back with the areas of work I needed to focus on. His Lead, Danny, took care of us of the project until they finished. Very respectful, professional and efficient. They did exterior windows, soffits, dormers, doors and replaced any wood that was rotten. We will definitely use them again for needs in the future.

5 Stars to Fortune Restoration. They just finished painting my house and it has never looked better. My wife suggested this may be the time to sell it because it looks so beautiful. Everyone we worked with were more professional than I could ever have imagined. Bob visited here to prepare the estimate. He asked all the right questions, and pointed out a number of items I had not even considered. I quickly received the proposal which was very detailed as to the exterior work and materials. The cost was very fair and we agreed upon a start date. The crew showed up on time. The project supervisor first informed me of all the procedures and materials they would be using in accordance with EPA guidelines and the team wore hazmat suits throughout the entire project. This was very professional. The crew quickly got to work preparing all the surfaces for painting. They did a very thorough job. Next, they applied different colors and types of paints to the various surfaces. Fortune had taken paint color samples and matched the new pain exactly to the color of the metal storm windows and doors. It was perfect. Throughout the entire two-day project, they kept their workspace tidy and professional. Upon completion, the project supervisor and I walked around the entire house and viewed the entire project. It was excellent. The entire Fortune team was extremely professional, friendly, and courteous. Several neighbors have stopped by to admire the paint job and inquire about Fortune Restoration. I have strongly recommended them to everyone. Thank you, Fortune!!

Fortune Restoration just finished painting the front of my house and I could not be happier. Robert Fortune, the owner, personally came and looked at the house before, during and after the job. The team of two that painted came out the first day and prepped the house by sanding and removing old paint that was chipped or peeling. During that time, one of the workers suggested a different accent color than we had initially asked for that was going to look much better. After debating with my wife, we called Robert the night before the painting (8pm) to tell him the new color we wanted. He said it was a great idea and ordered the paint that night and the workers showed up with the right color early the next morning. Overall, this was a wonderful experience.

Fortune Restoration just finished a phenomenal job on my historical home in Chicago. We had a number of rotting boards, peeling paint and general wear and tear on the north exterior wall of our home. The repair / repaint was thorough and high quality. Communication was excellent. Job site supervision (including taking great care to ensure my neighbors yard remained clean throughout the work) was excellent. If I need exterior paint work again in the future, Fortune will be my first and only call.

Tom and his team did an amazing job repairing and repainting the exterior of our home. The 1880s Victorian style has cedar siding, consisting of a combination of traditional boards and cedar tiles. It had been touched up and well maintained over the years, but no extensive repair or painting had been done. Many of the details, such as the trim around the windows and decorative teeth under the third floor's window trim, had chipped or fallen off. On the wall most exposed to the wind and sun, some siding required repair, a few pieces had to be replaced. Tom's team, led by Sergio, repaired/replaced boards/tiles as necessary, then sanded, primed and repainted all the siding. Their attention to detail was beyond impressive, with the window trim lined perfectly and the decorative accessories, such as the teeth, repaired to its original condition. We were most impressed with how much care the team took at sanding the cedar down to the wood before priming and repainting. The end result is siding that looks brand new. Another plus is they are reasonably priced. We received six quotes and they were in the middle of the pack. I highly recommend Fortune Restoration and Tom and his team. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent all around. From the initial planning phases, until the final day of work, we were extremely satisfied with all aspects of Fortune’s work. Tom was a great communicator, always available, and would check in to make sure things were going well. The entire work crew, including Danny who oversaw the day-in-day-out aspects of the project, were friendly, approachable, and extremely professional. Even our neighbors commented about how gracious the crew was. Our project was fairly large, including window/door replacement, major stucco repair, but Fortune was skilled and knowledgeable to take care of everything, without the need for subcontractors. We’re very satisfied with the end result and cannot give any higher recommendation for Fortune Restoration.

Pete Fortune and his team were fabulous! At the start of the project, Pete visited our home multiple times to help pick out the colors. He also sent a JC Licht Benjamin Moore paint color specialist to help us make the final decisions. He was responsive to all of our questions in a timely manner via email and phone. Once the painting started, his team was meticulous with attention to detail, extremely tidy, and very efficient. The entire project was done in just over a week. The painting team went the extra mile to do additional coats of paint on sun damaged areas of the house, and they were extremely helpful with answering our questions. Pete and his entire team were wonderful professionals to work with and we will be using them again for future projects. Couldn't recommend more highly!
