"Mike was early to appointment and easy to talk to he listen to my suggestions and we decided on a plan of action to reroute a sink drain that ran under my 100+ yr old house instead of tearing up the concrete. He and Eric came out on day that worked for both of us arrived early and jumped right into it and it was done quick and well with no mess left behind. I have found my go to guy for plumbing no more wondering who to call that I can trust. I feel good about the work and know my problem is has been permanently fixed."

"All Affordable Plumbing was great to work with. They address my primary issue which was an issue with the plumbing in the basement. Secondly, I had mentioned to them that I will be doing a kitchen remodel project in the near future and that I will need to have the drain relocated. What they did was stage the area in prepapration for that project, so that there will be minimal work for when I start that project and have the sink in the new location. Lastly, they were very organized and professional with their work. Also, they left the area cleaner than what I presented to them"

"Ryan came out initially to help my blind grandfather after we had a less than satisfying experience with a different plumber. Ryan came same day, diagnosed and fixed the problem and was very fair with his pricing. About a month later we had Ryan back for a clogged sink drain, and he once again got to us within the day, charged fairly, and was incredibly respectful of myself and my family."

"2 gentlemen from Copper Sky Plumbing to fix a gas leak. They arrived on time, explained the repair and got to work. They completed when they promised and explained my next steps to get the gas flowing again. Very happy with the work."

"Had a great experience with Real Seal from beginning to end. Initial consultation to solution for seepage in corner of our basement resulted in drain tile option with new sump pit given our specific situation. The work was scheduled and completed several weeks later. The crew was very professional and made sure the work was done to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend Real Seal."

"The guy was incredible. Great price, great service, incredibly clean, neat efficient. He had just what we needed on the truck and was in and out of their in a matter of moments. You could not ask for a better service call. They don't make them any better. I'm not exaggerating. I will tell you it was awesome. We will take that t any time. I don't really remember the cost, but it was less than we thought it would be, it was way less, way less. Based on that we asked him to do a quick unclog of out bathtub drain as well. The whole thing was marvelously priced and efficiently and quickly done. They were amazing. This guy came from quite a distance and I was impressed that they even service this area. It doesn't get any better. This is probably the best service call."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

Liquid drain cleaners are harsh chemicals that can erode your pipes. To treat a slow drain or for preventative maintenance, pour hot water down the drain to break up gunk and help move it along. Make sure the water isn’t boiling hot (keep it under 140 degrees Fahrenheit) if you have plastic pipes. However, you’ll need to pull the clog out for bigger backups.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Preventing water accumulation involves regular inspections, maintaining effective drainage systems, ensuring proper roof maintenance, and taking preventive measures against heavy rainfall or floods.
