I got estimates from three companies to correct these problems. Pivotal was a clear standout. The owner Jeff, his family members Andy and James, along with the rest of the crew make up a terrific team. Jeff and Andy visited my basement twice for long and detailed planning sessions. The actual work took 7 days for completion with James as foreman. All the problems of my basement were fully addressed. My bowed wall is now vertical, with strong supports along all walls every few feet. A complete waterproofing system was installed which feeds to my sump pump. Cleanup after completion of the work was very thorough. Bottom line: Pivotal is a totally trustworthy top quality company!! "

"We are so impressed with Everseal. They installed a sump pump and interior drainage tiles in our basement in March of 2021. The job took only four days. The employees worked extremely hard to install the pump, interior drain tiles and window well drains. The young men, who removed debris from the basement in buckets and returned with fresh cement, literally ran in and out of the house to complete the job. They were amazing. They then brought their own hose to wash down any residue on our sidewalk and driveway. They took great care to keep the dirt and dust to a minimum. As they broke up the concrete floor, they used a powerful exhaust fan that vented to the outside through one of our basement windows. For additional protection, they wrapped the furnace with plastic sheets and hung plastic sheets around the basement enclosing the work area. They then made a tunnel with plastic from the basement door to the upstairs front door. Yes, there was dust that reached the upstairs. But, without their careful concern for our home, it could have been much worse. After the project was finished, we washed our walls upstairs and they were fine. The dust that reached the upstairs was easily cleaned.   They were price competitive and always went the extra mile to answer our questions.  A month after the installation, they returned to install a gasket and aluminum strips around the flange in the area where we do occasional woodworking. They did not charge for this service. And, they kept a vacuum operating to capture the dust while they were drilling the small holes in the concrete. The results look great. They also removed their shoes before entering our home and then wore booties to keep the dirt in the basement. Again, it is their attention to detail that sets them apart from others.  Everseal is a top notch company and deserves an A++ rating!"

Foundation settling is normal and expected if just a small amount of settlement occurs within a year or so after construction. This usually results in hairline cracks in the foundation, which aren’t typically a problem. If settlement occurs years after construction, unevenly under your home, or results in signs of structural damage, then it could be very serious. Yes, a house can collapse from severe foundation problems if left unchecked, which is why it’s so important to carry out routine foundation inspections and call for repairs at the first sign of an issue. Foundation cracks that are 1/8 inch wide or less, aren’t uneven across the gap, and don’t continue widening over time are usually just normal settling cracks and don’t suggest structural issues. Regularly inspecting your foundation—at least the visible sections—for signs of foundation issues like moisture and pest infestation is a good way to identify slab leaks early, as is keeping an eye and ear out for water damage to indoor building materials, above-average water bills, sounds of running water when no fixtures or appliances are on, and indoor humidity that causes the temperatures to feel more extreme.
