I am an owner operator with several years of transportation and logistics experience, both as a broker and a driver. I never carry garbage or unclean products, and my 2017 Ford Transit T-250 Cargo Van is cleaned before and after every load to ensure nothing is cross contaminated, punctured, or otherwise altered by another customer's cargo. Garbage disposals last an average of seven years but can function well past 10 years. However, as time goes on and more food is ground, the grinding plates will slowly lose their edge and need replacing. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.
