Terrific! Had to move A LOT of heavy furniture to Utah. Best deal in town. These guys were really good too.. Everything went as they said. Price was way less than others in town were, and I called many. If ever I need this kinda move done I'll use New planet

Had to move larger items than usual from my business here, to S. California local. Place I normally used backed out last minute. Scrambling, I found this place. Boy am I glad I did. Completely saved my butt & pricing was way better than those other companies were. Even the one I usually use. They packed up everything for me! I didn't have to do squat. A bonus! Very happy. Will hire in the future.

I'd used this company before when I moved from NYC to Florida. Had to move my Mother's house to be near me. So used them again. Excellent as usual. Best price for all I needed with the move. No one beat their price hands down!

I'm retired and on a limited income, so I shopped around a lot. I had to move my home contents into storage because I'm selling my house. New Planet was local, they were the best price for what I needed done. Everything was handled professionally on time and as promised which is rare these days. I will definitely refer any of my other friends that need assistance to new planet moving & Storage. They did all they could to make it affordable for me and that says a lot

I found champion from a friend of mine and I'm so glad I did. They were like $800 less than Mayflower and I loved Lauren and Noreen the estimators. On move day we did have a slight language barrier with 2 of 5 guys but the foreman on the job was amazing. I forgot his name but he got everything on track within 20 minutes of being in my home. I wish i could thank him publically. But moving is crazy Fast forward to delivery, they set up ALL of my furniture! I'm 82 so this was a great help. Nothing was damaged and they came to my house only 2 days after the first date I was ready so you can imagine how happy I was w that. Sadly i do have to move again next year, but happily i already know who i will use. I thank the entire team for helping an old lady in need.

Couldn't have been better, movers were great, fast and most of all honest. This day and age it is difficult to find movers from small towns, New Planet was willing to come to Casper, Wyoming and did it for a good cost and they were timely and the pick up was smooth and delivery was when we wanted. Would use them anytime.

Would definetly hire this compny again! Hopefully we don't have to move for a while! Although I'm sure New Planet would make it way easier. Our items were picked up on time and handled with such care. My friend had recommended another company which quoted us a much higher quote so glad I went with my gut and hired this company. Customer service is also awesome!

This was my first time hiring a moving company, and I was so afraid that I would go over budget because people have been saying that it's expensive. I moved from Henderson to Summerlin which is a bit of a distance so that worried me too because I really didn't want any damages on my belongings. I did a simple search online for competing prices and settled on this business. Very helpful in terms of customer service. They were detailed from point A to point B. When I move, I would use them again. I'm very happy with the move as they made everything so easy for me and my family.

NORTHSTAR
Moving and Storage, then in Chatsworth California, was contracted to move the contents
of my family?s home in July 2012.  The
move was scheduled to take place on August 29, 2012, from Las Vegas Nevada, to
Eugene, Oregon.  Instead of NORTHSTAR, an
unknown to me third party: NEW PLANET MOVING and STORAGE, of Las Vegas NV,
showed up unannounced the morning of the move.  Three NEW PLANET employees
then conducted an In-Home Robbery during that day while loading our
property.  It was a well rehearsed, divide
and distraction method.  Isolating us to
avoid the detection of the movers stealing personal property.
The team
leader, a man who said his name was Yana, talked me out of buying additional insurance
coverage saying:  "NORTHSTAR NEW PLANET
is affiliated with MOSHES in New York City, the movers of the rich and
famous.  You can trust we are the best
movers in the country, you have nothing to worry about."
Yaniv, claimed
to be a citizen of Israel. A second Hispanic man Yaniv introduced as Carlos, later
denied his name, claiming his name was Andrew, A third young man Juan, a
citizen of Costa Rica. The three men worked together as a team, absconding with
at least the following items listed in a LV Metro Police Department report filed
the following week:  Removed all cash
from wallets, ransacked backpacks, GPS equipment for the drive to the new
location, A Loaded Gun, Prescription Category 1 medication, syringes, Computer
Drives, many boxes set aside and labeled in Orange Tape; MOVERS DO NOT
TAKE.
During the
day someone would constantly be asking us ?what goes, what stays? calling us
from room to room.  This allowed someone
else to rifle through our belongs.
They
deliberately failed to take articles destined for the moving truck.  Hid and camouflaged those articles under
shopping bags and blankets.
The next
day, I contacted NORTHSTAR customer service employee, Wendy.  When she was told of the robbery et.al. she chided
me for not taking the additional coverage, saying in effect I should not have
trusted Yaniv, her trusted subcontractor.
When she was told the robbery would be filed in an official police
report, Wendy said, "You might as well, I would."  She refused consideration of the expressed
circumstances, offered no concern, service, or even surprise.  When I requested to speak with the President,
ABRAHAM KATALAN, she refused. Later during the next telephone conversation,
after consultation with her management, she conveyed; "NORTHSTAR stands by
its subcontractors, period."
IT GETS WORSE:
NORTHSTAR
then repeatedly refused my requests to delay delivery to the destination
address.  We needed additional time to
determine what to do with the left-behind property, and assess what legal
recourse was available in Las Vegas.
NORTHSTAR now had our property and hijacked the moving process.  They refused our request to delay
delivery.  Some days later, employee Adam
in dispatch told me, "We made the delivery in Eugene Oregon, you were not
there, therefore, an additional $2000.00 redelivery charged is now
assessed."  This was after we spoke
directly to the driver, telling him we were not in Oregon, and to wait until he
heard from us we had arrived.  [Storage
would have been cheaper for the customer than a redelivery charge].
NORTHSTAR
employee Adam Also informed us that the cost of the transportation would exceed
the initial quote by over 300%.
The initial
quote process was conducted only by phone, by employee Alice, who insisted
"all we need is the number of bedrooms to give you a quote."  NORTHSTAR employees, who like Yaniv, are
Israeli citizens, with accents difficult to understand, made verbal
communications more difficult.
No prior
on-site assessment or walk through was made, by any NORTHSTAR representative,
of the contents to be moved.  However, it's
now clear NORTHSTAR had in NEW PLANET a local Las Vegas sub-contractor capable
of an on-site inspection.
Two weeks
before the move, a Las Vegas "boutique mover? offered a dedicated single
truck, not a consolidation load.  The
quote included loading and unloading and transport.  They gave a quote LESS, than the amount
NORTHSTAR is now attempting to collect as ransom.
Additional
storage fees now exceed an additional $5000.
It should
be noted we were forced to "re-buy" essential living items after finally
reaching the destination.  Bedding,
dishes, clothing, medical supplies, other items equally important, beyond our
financial reach.

Formal request for investigation was
made to the US Department of Transportation after we were told we were victims
of a "Rogue Hostage Mover."  US
DOT informed us NORTHSTAR violated Federal regulations by insisting on
pre-delivery deposits, made clever use of forms and contract paperwork to
position themselves for a win-lose confrontation.  USDOT has no authority to demand return of hostage
property; they can only fine NORTHSTAR et.al. DOT never informed us to what
extent if any an investigation was conducted, as of this date.   Attorneys advised us the only success with
"Rouge Hostage Movers" is to quote "Pay the Ransom."  The only legal venue is in Federal Court, a
two or more year proposition with attorney fees exceeding entire cost of
property lost.  Which doesn?t include the
loss of irreplaceable personal belongings. Personal papers, financial and work
related. We no longer have any personal items of family history, nostalgia,
photographs of parents, siblings, friends, pets, birth and death certificates,
passports, tax returns, receipts, medical records, you know the rest.  If you have any experience in these matters
that could assist us, please contact management at Angies List.  Be advised, NORTHSTAR was chosen for an
aggregate good rating on Angies List.  After
the robbery, a check of NEW PLANET on this list revealed a arating of
"F" with similar customer experiences.  Clearly NORTHSTAR was aware of the status of
its subcontractor.  Other member
customers experience with NEW PLANET led to the conclusion NEW PLANET had
conducted many similar operations.  They
were fast, and well trained in the art of deception.  They repeatedly conducted themselves in an
odd manner during the day, but not enough to assume the worst was taking
place.
A USDOT web site contains information on
how to avoid these companies.  Had I
known it existed, I would?ve been clued in, from the first request for a
deposit, that something was wrong.

The Customer Service reps were very helpful, although the owner changed my rate a week before we were due to move because another client changed their moving day. I felt that 8 days notice of a new rate was not enough time. I found the short notice to be unprofessional, since it was not our fault the other client fell through. They also intentionally held our property longer than we were told and we received it 2 days late. It sat in Las Vegas because they couldn’t find a driver to bring it to us which put a damper on the situation when we were in the new place and had none of our property. I appreciate the driver for dropping everything off last minute and driving during the night from Las Vegas. He was friendly and cordial, but I am more upset about how the owner handled all of this.

Response from New Planet Moving & Storage
"New Planet Moving & Storage has a third-party certified claims department (Claims Processing Center) that handles all of our claim matters. They provide claim specialists who evaluate claims for the moving industry. They determine the validity of a claim and determine the compensation amount to be granted to the customer. They based the amount on several factors such as paperwork, documentation, photos, written statements/estimates, the insurance elected by the customer, etc. They carefully follow guidelines and policies to protect both the customer and the moving company of any illegal actions. I contacted the claims department before replying to this complaint. According to their records, she was mailed a determination letter stating that the compensation of her claim totals $336.00. Along with the amount, an explanation of the determined amount is also described in the letter (as all determinations letters do). This letter was mailed to her on 12/1/2011; two additional letters were mailed thereafter in attempt to close the claim. A completed and notarized determination letter has yet to be returned to the claims department. This case is still pending due to a non-response from her. No additional monies will be offered to this customer due to legal liabilities. The claims department has granted the full amount mentioned above the New Planet Moving & Storage needs to be legally compliant. Until New Planet receives further notice to release a check to this customer, New Planet has no control over this matter. It is suggested that she return completed and notarized form as soon as possible to receive compensation. If she needs to contact the claims department she can do so at (201) 437-6900, M-F, 10-5pm EST. Please do not publish this complaint. This customer is claiming that she has not been compensated for lost items. However, several attempts have been made to compensate her and she has not responded. It would be unfair to have a complaint like this published for thousands of people to read and allowing them to have a negative image of New Planet Moving & Storage and Claims Processing Center when in fact both agencies have been legally compliant in handling her claim. Please do not publish this complaint."

The movers picked up our furniture and belongings after they tried to change the move date. Then we headed to our apartment we had rented in Richland, Washington where we waited for 3 weeks to get our furniture and belongings. We must have called them at least 10 times but the owner and people of this company do not want to hear your complaints. It was constant excuses and when we finally got the furniture we had to pay an additional $500 in cash to a different company that delivered our furniture. It was the strangest experience I have ever had with a moving company. I would never use these people again and I told Champion movers to stop recommending them.

1. They didn't want to take a credit card. I had to pay extra to use my credit card. The credit card receipt they had me sign had my full credit card number on it, none of it was masked (that's been the law now for several years). Anyone could just copy the receipt and steal my identity. 2. They were over an hour late picking up my furniture from a storage space. 3. They were 3 days late delivering my furniture. 4. They told me they would be there before noon and didn't get here until after 5 pm. 5. The pieces that were not boxed had dust and dirt on them as if they had left them outside. 6. Some of the boxes were torn to pieces as if they had been rammed with a forklift. 7. The men that delivered broke 2 of the legs on a desk and tried to cover it up (I didn't notice it until I attempted to move it that evening and the legs fell off.) 8. 4 boxes were missing. Curiously they contained all of my canned and non-perishable sealed food, and kitchen implements (dish rack, some towels, some bowls, etc). 9. The top to my table was missing (round table top). 10. The men that delivered didn't speak English very well (Eastern Europe I think) and insisted that I sign the manifest even though I was reluctant to. I thought it best (and safest) not to argue but pursue it with the company. 11. I called "Tom" the person I dealt with at the company and told him that I had quite a bit of damage and how should I submit a claim. He told me to make a list, with photos and he would give it to someone. It was hard to get info from him, he kept saying that he'd never done a claim before because this never happened before. 12. I sent an Excel spreadsheet listing damages and costs. (over $1100.00) 13. I repeatedly called and emailed Tom and others in the company with no response. 14. I called my credit card company and disputed part of the charge (around $798.00, this was the last credit card charge that New Planet made on my credit card). I received a letter from the credit card company stating that they are looking into my dispute. 15. As of today 10/25/08, I've heard nothing more from the credit card company and nothing from New Planet Moving.
