Reviews of Concrete Removal Companies Near You

Mailbox Xpress Inc

Jim was prompt and responsive in setting a time to come by to install a new mailbox and remove our old vandalized one. Our old mailbox post was installed in a concrete slate that was difficult to remove but Jim went above and beyond in getting it done. He also sawed up the old post to make it easier to dispose of. Most importantly, he took the time to answer our questions and generally thought he was responsive. I would highly recommend him.

My backyard was a mess! The concrete patio had crumbled into what looked like a miniature crater. The concrete that ran around the back of my townhouse was also very old and had deteriorated beyond belief. I had no choice but to tear out the old patio and concrete and re-pour new concrete. As a first time home-buyer, I have heard of really bad stories of contractors and the shady practices they undertake. I received other quotes but the companies did not seem very interested in speaking in detail about what I wanted. "I will come, pour concrete and you pay me this much." I just had a really bad feeling in my gutt about these estimates and contractors. I then joined Angie's List and ran across "Soni Singh Masonry". Soni showed up for the estimate and I must say he was a breath of fresh air. He LISTENED to everything I had to say. He was very receptive to my ideas and seemed very engaged. You can tell he has a passion for the work he does. After discussing a bunch of different ideas, he asked me what I thought about irregular shaped flagstone wet laid on top of newly poured concrete. It sounded like a great idea and I mentioned it to my fiancé. We both went on his website and looked at the different projects he had completed. Really beautiful work, we decided to go for it. Soni contacted me very frequently and kept me up-to-date on when his crew would start the work. When the day came, Soni was there with his workers and oversaw the project. I asked a lot of questions (maybe a bit too much) but Soni didn?t mind and answered every one of them. He told me that keeping the customer happy was his goal and happy I was! As far as the quality of the work goes, it looks great! The steps, the patio? all of it came out beautiful. Soni also guarantees his work so if something unforeseen happens; he will give me reasonable options. One issue I have run into is Efflorescence. It?s when the salt in the concrete makes it?s way through the flagstone, it leaves a white salty film over the stones and brick. I did some research and this happens quite often with concrete work. Soni and his company did a quick acid wash and I have been wetting it with my hose and cleaning it off. I am supposed to wait a month and then I will acid wash it again and seal it? just waiting for the Efflorescence to completely deplete. I do want to say thank you to Soni Singh Masonry for the fantastic job they did, the customer service they provided, and the hard work they put into my backyard. THANK YOU? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

The project went well. I initially had some issues with communication when working on the bid and some follow-up questions. It took me several weeks to get my questions answered and I had to do the follow-up with them. That is why I have given them a B on communication. However, when Luis took over during the actual project, communication went smoothly and the project went smoothly. They were efficient and the patio looks great. They removed the old patio, framed the new one, poured the concrete (added in the base color for us), stamped it, and sealed it. Their bid was competitive. We love it.

Apex General Contracting

The project went well. The time frame had to change because of an emergency with the lead carpenter and another time for weather Apex was very communicative about it. The work was done quickly and well. And most importantly, Carlos, the owner, consulted me on everything from what posts and railings I wanted to problem solving an issue. I found this very refreshing as most contractors just decide what is easiest for them and go with it, without talking to you.

RALPH C BOWLES HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Ralph told me that they would arrive by 7am on the first morning to begin removing the old driveway. They were there right on time. They worked steadily all day and got the asphalt driveway removed. Once that was done, they built the forms for the first half of the new driveway and extended walkway and put wire mesh in as a reinforcement. The next morning, they arrived early to finish preparations for the first concrete truck. After the first concrete was poured, they got it all smoothed out and polished. After that, they built the forms and put in the mesh for the second half of the driveway. The second concrete truck arrived, poured the concrete and Ralph and his crew got things finished up late that afternoon. Late the next day, Ralph came and removed the forms, and two days later, I was able to park in my new driveway. It looks great, and I know that it will outlast me.Ralph has been doing work at my house since the 1990's when my mother first got him to fix our front porch. He always arrives on time, is always polite, and if he can't do something, he will tell you straight out. His prices are very competitive, and if something isn't right,he will come back and fix it. I know that I can call on Ralph anytime.

We were thrilled using the services of Mike Cadle and his crew at Capital Masonry LLC. We quickly got a personal visit and inspection, as well as the proposal and pricing the same day. When we compared all the considerations, we felt they were the best solution. What impressed us too was the promises made and kept by Mike Cadle to start and finish the work on schedule, on price, and with great results. His workers are amazing, too, and work long hours with skill and experience. This kind of work is messy and demanding, yet we know the crew was mindful of keeping the debris manageable and disposing of it properly and completely too. We cannot recommend Capital Masonry LLC enough, and are very happy with the beautiful results. In fact, before this project was done, we also engaged Mike and his crew to remove and replace our driveway with an updated surface.

The contractor and crew were punctual, polite, congenial, professional and very creative and competent. The crew arrived early each day and worked until roughly 5:30, except for a couple of rain days and weekends.. The job was completed in five workdays. Debris was removed daily. The office assistant was always available to answer questions or help in any other way to aid in the successful and timely completion of this project. To say that I am exceptionally pleased with the work done would be an understatement. But I am not the only one delighted with my new walkway. Neighbors and friends have been very complimentary about the results. I even received a compliment from the owner of company that mows my law. He also does landscaping and brickwork and was impressed by the transformation. I look forward to hiring this company to landscape the remainder of my property at a later date.

The old slab was removed and new concrete poured in one day. A few days later, workers returned to remove the framing. The job and clean-up was very neatly done. Price was competitive with other bids.

This review would be a "zero" star review if this was an option within Angi's. We hired this company to replace our asphalt driveway. We signed the proposal on 4/30/2022 ($4,800.00) and the project was started on 5/2/2022. The new driveway installation was completed on 5/2/2022, however, all material from our now-removed old driveway was put in a pile at end of our driveway by our mailbox. A lot of material / old asphalt (we have a long driveway). Removal of ALL material from our now-replaced driveway was not assumed...it was clearly indicated in the proposal we signed. At the completion of the project on 5/2/22, the company's representative told us that they could not remove the material that day and that they would return on 5/3/2022 or 5/4/2022 to remove all of the material from the end of our driveway AND from along the sides of our newly installed driveway (our yard). Satisfied with this commitment, and considering we have a signed proposal with this included in the scope of work, we paid in full on 5/2/2022 (our mistake). 5/3/22 and 5/4/2022 came a went with no contact from the company regarding removal of the material. We reached out on 5/5/2022, via text, to inquire about the status of the removal. The company responded that the reason for the delay in the removal "my truck broke down...I've had to rent a dump trailer hopefully today." I'm writing this review on 5/14/2022. We've had nearly daily communication with this company (always initiated by us...never by them) and, each day, they make a commitment stating "they'll be out that day...no matter what time." They've yet to show up. This material has still not been removed from in front of our house. Important to note that our neighbor (3 house down) used this same company to replace their asphalt driveway with their project also being completed on 5/2/2022. At the end of our neighbor's project on 5/2/2022, the old driveway material was also left at the end of their driveway. My neighbor's material, however, was removed within 2 days of their project being completed. Perhaps we didn't complain enough right away. Long story short: 1) Do not use this company. In a project like this, the removal is just as important as the installation....especially considering it is written into the scope of work. 2) We're coming further out of pocket to hire another company to remove this material.

The team that came were amazing. They had modem equipment and bright a 40 ton crane to remove the tree. The tree climbers were professional and the removed the tree limb by limb that was between two homes without incident. I could not believe how they were able to maneuver the large branches between the two structures. This was a massive tree, over 100 years old so this was no easy feat. The crew also trimmed another healthy tree to perfection and ground the tree stump as well pricing was very competitive and the quality and professionalism of the whole team from the office staff to the team in the ground was outstanding. I would call them again without hesitation.

The work team showed up on time and were very friendly and professional. The foreman explained everything they were going to do and, during the project when there was a question on a particular detail of their work, they did not hesitate to ask me for what I wanted. The only problem with the project was that the complete footer of the removed foundation was not removed as agreed to. When contacted, Salzano apologized for the error and the work team returned in a timely manner and removed the entire footer to my satisfaction.

Soni and his team completed our large brick patio in record time and with very high quality. They were able to remove old pavers, remove leftover roots and debris, and regrade our 20x27' backyard in one day. Then they completed a concrete base and step structure on day 2. Within 2 additional days, the bricks were laid to cover the entire backyard and the steps. We are very happy with our new back patio and felt that it was all done at a reasonable price. We are thankful for the kindness and professionalism that Soni and his team showed us during the entire process.

Mottern Masonry removed our old pavers and overgrown gardens, poured concrete reinforced with rebar, and laid down varrigated bluestone. In addition, they buried our downspout and leveled the patio (our property is on a slight hill). From the time we called to the time we were grilling on our new patio, only two weeks had gone by. They also removed all trash and scrubbed the stone afterward. We're very happy with the result and the speed of service.

We were unable to find pros for your Concrete Disposal project in Ashburn, VA

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Concrete can last for decades, which is a problem if you want to remove it for landscaping, a new deck, or some other renovation. Concrete removal is professional work, not suited to the amateur.

Concrete Removal

Suppose you want to replace a degraded concrete driveway; what do you do with the concrete chunks? The right move, nearly always for this physically demanding job, is to hire a company to come in, break up the concrete slabs with air tools, and cart everything away.

The same removal process can eliminate a concrete pad where a garage once stood, remove an unsightly, outdated concrete patio, or take out concrete foundation walls.

Costs of Concrete Removal

Unreinforced concrete, the kind typically found in driveways and walks, does not have steel rebar reinforcing rods in it, so it is lighter and easier to handle than concrete with rebar.

The costs of non-reinforced concrete breakup and removal is between $1,500 to $2,500. That's for an amount of concrete equivalent to a two-car driveway. Add to that disposal fees (what a landfill will charge, the costs of a dumpster, and possible additional labor charges from the removal company). Fortunately, most non-reinforced concrete can be recycled, lowering costs.

For breaking up, cutting up and removing steel-reinforced concrete, expect to pay more. To remove a 200-square-foot patio, it will cost around $2,600. Reinforced concrete is heavier, harder to handle, and not recyclable.

Hiring a Concrete Removal Company Near You

Your first decision is to determine if your concrete removal project is a do-it-yourself task or professional work. Angie's List can help you determine which way to go.

If you do decide to hire professionals, review this list near you to find a reliable, local concrete removal company. You can also call paving and concrete companies, inquiring on prices for removing the very material they also install.

In many cases removal is just the first half of a project handled by the same concrete company. Perhaps you need a sidewalk removed and a new one laid in; one company can quote a price for both tasks.

Get three on-site price quotes, and expect the quotes to list out labor charges per hour, removal fees, and any other add-on costs like dumpster rental. Get an estimate, too, of the number of hours the job might take. Be sure to clarify if the quote is for non-reinforced (recyclable) or reinforced concrete.
