Customers say: Quality work

"Les Kennell called me back and came to the house to give me a quote for the job the very same day I inquired about him. After getting one other quote, which was more than twice the quote given by Mr. Kennell, I called him and he was able to install an electrical outlet in my half bath in a couple days time. I was very satisfied with his work!"

"Customer service was wonderful! The crew was prompt and courteous, and I feel they went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our project. They removed old brick edging and a ton of lava rock. They then graded sections that needed it, and installed a new brick edge beautifully, followed by sheeting and new rock. Highly recommend!!"

"First of all, Manny was on time and as polite in person as over the phone. Manny worked very conscientiously from the start to the finish of both of my projects. He takes doing a good job seriously and is very efficient. I am fully comfortable with giving his name and number out to friends and family. I've already given it to my employer. In the future, I plan on calling them for all electrical needs. The price compared well with others in the area."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

In Peoria, homeowners often skip required permits, place generators too close to windows or neighbors, or underestimate backup power needs for sump pumps during spring flooding. Choosing an undersized generator, ignoring local setback rules, or failing to plan for snow and ice buildup are frequent errors. Hiring installers unfamiliar with Peoria’s codes or not verifying insurance can also lead to costly problems and safety risks.

Helpful?

In Peoria, generator installation can impact HVAC performance, sump pump operation, and well water systems, especially during extended outages. It may also affect yard drainage if the installation alters grading. Ensure your backup power setup supports security alarms, smoke detectors, and medical devices. Consulting a local expert helps confirm all home systems are properly integrated and protected during power transitions.

Helpful?

In Peoria, if your backup power system shows rust after heavy rain, has water stains from snowmelt, or the generator vibrates excessively during operation, these are red flags. Frequent tripped breakers, a transfer switch that doesn’t engage smoothly, or visible damage to wiring from rodents—common in older Peoria homes—also signal that the generator installation may need professional attention to ensure reliability and safety.

Helpful?

In Peoria, even faint odors of natural gas, flickering lights during generator use, or dampness around the generator pad can escalate quickly. If you notice the generator struggling to start after a cold snap or see minor cracks in the concrete base from freeze-thaw cycles, these small issues often grow into major repairs, especially with IL’s unpredictable weather and shifting soil.

Helpful?

In Peoria, schedule generator installation before tornado season or winter storms to avoid outages. Immediate action is needed if your home has frequent power interruptions or you depend on backup power for medical devices. If your electrical system is newer and you’re not in a flood-prone area, you may wait, but always factor in Peoria’s history of severe weather and the reliability of your current setup.
