"The crew was courteous and efficient. They did a great job lifting the concrete in the drive up about two to three inches. The lifted both sides of the crack to level the crack. They ran into some troubles leveling the sidewalk as the limestone slurry started to lift the entire slab rather than just one side. The sidewalk is better than it was before they the began. They stopped and explained to why they stopped when it was evident that no more good progress could be made. They also lifted the front edge of the door stoop. There was a large cavity under this piece so it took a lot of material. They were able to lift this front edge about 2+ inches. They gave advice on what to use to seal the crack in the driveway once they leveled it. They do not seal the cracks themselves."

Unlike other contractors that will look at something and just say "Oh this is the issue, it'll cost about $10,000 to fix" Pivotal Basement Solutions is the opposite of that. After talking with Jeff on the phone they came to my house a couple of days later and took a look at our situation. "Good work in general; our basement no longer sees water for over 3 years now, which is the most important thing. But there were some real issues: The biggest issue is that USW did not adhere to local electrical codes, and did not arrange for a final inspection of the project. So we didn't find out that it wasn't to code until years later, and now it's a big hassle and minor cost to fix and get the permits. Ask your local gov yourself what you need to do for permits and inspections; don't rely on USW! USW said they would seal any foundation cracks found along the way; they didn't do this until I bugged the warranty dept about it (but they did do it eventually). USW sent someone out for the "annual checkup"... over 2 years after the install. It's a good thing they (eventually) did, because they discovered the backup battery wasn't charging. Now I know to check this stuff better myself. Prices also vary wildly and are kind of negotiable (I'd give more detail but I'm out of space)"

"I had a wonderful experience with MidAmerica Basement Systems & highly recommend them if your having any waterproofing needs. My project: I purchased my home 3.5 years ago & it started getting water in the basement last year after the outside drainage & tiling system put in my previous owners failed miserably. It would literally be full days of pumping water out of multiple locations in my basement. There were issues of moisture even with two dehumidifiers running & subfloors the crew took out & cleaned up after as well. Scheduling: They will schedule a ways out for appointments but only because it's a high demand working system. Others may be able to offer services quicker but there is likely a reason they are not busy. I got several bids in the time I waited for my MidAmerica Basement Systems appointment & encourage you to as well but definitely wait until after your appointment to make a decision. They were not the cheapest but had the best guarantee (100%), best working system, and a few things I've learned in my 20 years of homeownership is if you go cheap & need to redo it your typically spending more than if you did it right the first time & your home is not something to skimp on or take chances. MidAmerica Basement Systems will send you detailed emails as to what you can expect for each appointment. They will mail you a packet of information regarding different systems that work vs fail & throughly explain the dangers & hazards water/moisture in your home will cause. Our basement got so bad from the Derecho the only dry place was in our basement was the shower & my celing developed black mold quickly from the moisture. Not only did they offer a system to waterproof my basement but a whole house dehumidifier & air purifier which would have saved my ceiling if I had earlier. Sales: I had Justin A for sales & he was very thorough in listening to my problems & needs as well as took his time in explaining & showing me how they could fix my issues, how the system works, as well as answering all of my questions with detail & no hurry. He was absolutely great about changes I made in adding work later on (before my appointment) as well. He doesn't make it feel like a sales pitch, is not pushy at all, & really works to get you the most work in your budget (prep & finish work offered), as well as taking his time with you through the entire process. The office crew: The office staff was very polite & helpful. I mostly worked with Desiree S & Kim B who are extremely responsive in working with me. The Crew: My crew consisted of Brandon T, Sam G, & Ethan T who I highly recommend! These young men are the exact type you want on your project! They are polite, respectful, hard working, efficient, trust worthy & have a great work ethic! They not only got the job done in the time allotted but left my basement incredibly clean which I didn't expect. They thoroughly go over the work before & after as well as answer any questions you have along the way & explain in detail any changes if something isn't to plan before just doing something differently. They called before heading to my house as well which I thought was very courteous. "Seepage Issue Prior To Work Done
We had a minor seepage issue in 3-4 areas of our basement.  Minor meaning small puddles of water develop if and only if we get heavy and long rain storms.  The house was built in 1929 and did not have a sump pump or pit.  
Down the road, we plan to finish the basement, eventually my wife and I agreed to commit to fixing the seepage issue and this is where the story starts.  
( Short story: Brian, his crew, and overall integrity is excellent, I highly recommend Crawlspace/Basement Waterproofing Solutions.  They will sell you what you need and they will make sure you are happy.)    Long Story (I recommend reading):
In the beginning......Getting Quotes
I consider myself to be above average DIY person however fixing seepage is not in my skill set.  I had no idea how much money would be required to fix our seepage issue. My expectation was $3000-$4000.
First we had US Waterproofing out.  They sent a salesman which for me is an immediate turn off.  The salesman was okay but not impressive....to be honest more then a little rough.  In the end, he gave us a quote that was $8000.00.  This was surprisingly and uncomfortably large sum of money plus in my opinion, the proposed seepage solution was in my opinion a solution for a severe seepage problem.  My opinion, up selling; selling me too much. Side note, they did offer financing options that were good.  
 (total time at least 1.5 hours)  
With the US Waterproofing quote in hand, for the next 1-2 week my wife and I continued to discuss the situation.  I was really bummed about the 8k.  Eventually, I got my head together and thankfully did not commit to US Waterproofing.  Instead we put their quote aside and called Perma-Seal.
Perma-Seal came out.  Another salesman another immediate turn off.  However, the salesman was great.  He gave a very impressive presentation that covered the company, recommended products to solve our seepage issue, and what the process would be to solve our seepage issue.  In the end, he first proposed a solution that was super over the top, I believe it was $10,000.00.  After reminding him money is tight and I want a solution for the specific areas of the basement, his second proposed solution was $7900.00.  Not good.  Too much money and my gut feeling continued, up selling; selling to much.  Side note, they did offer financing options that were good however it was simply to much money to commit to.  (total time at least 1.5 hours)
With US Waterproofing quote and Perma-Seal quote in hand and little depression (on my part), my wife and I took another 1-2 weeks to talk.  I almost committed to a quote but thankfully I did not.  Eventually I got me head together again.  I joined Angie's List.  Reviewed the basement seepage businesses in the area by rank and found Crawlspace/Basement Waterproofing Solutions ranked #2.  This was a bit exciting.  I read a few reviews and got even more excited, there was 1 or 2 reviews that seemed to reflect my situation; everyone wants to sell me cashmere when I am confident I only need cotton. 
So I called Crawlspace/Basement Waterproofing Solutions.   Brian the owner and crew chief (immediately impressed) came over to inspect and propose a solution/quote. He gave us a quote for exactly what we needed and it was quick and easy.   Side note, I did tell him I had the other two quotes but I did not show or tell him the numbers and did not tell him our money is tight.  His quote $2800.00.  WOW!  (total time: 40 min)
My wife and I were so happy however I was a bit worried, two businesses quote me $8000 and this guy wants $2800?!?!.  To be clear, the $2800 was for installing a sump pump it, sump pump, the drainage system from pit to outside, drainboards on the walls, trench and install drain tile inside basement, concrete the drain tile inside basement, and cementing my ugly/nasty crawlspace.  His work comes with a warranty for the life of the home and is transferable to the next owner. 
After committing to Brian, 4 days later he arrived with his crew as scheduled.  The crew completed the project in 1.5 days as planned.  During the 1.5 days I closely monitored the crew's work and chatted with them.  Additional, I had a few long chats with Brian.  The entire team is excellent.  Happy, polite, personable, and hard working.  I was very impressed with the team.  When the work was completed, Brian called be twice to ensure we where happy with the work.  There was a very minor cosmetic issue that I mentioned.  Brian immediately setup a guy to come out in 1-2 business days.......the minor issue was fixed (no charge).
Since the completion, we have had 3 long extra heavy rain storms.  No water in basement!  YES!  Wife and I are very happy.

Extra work was done and we were not charged.
Brian is personable, 100% kept all promises, sold us what we needed, fun, and maintains a hard working and happy team.
