"Had MQ Painting paint the exterior of my house and garage and could not be happier. Did everything the right way! First came and power washed everything a few days before, then on first day of painting removed all old caulk and re-caulked, plus filled any holes. Gave everything 2 coats and on one part that was stain actually gave 3 coats. Original quote did not include foundation, soffit, gutters, front and rear stairs but Jose added those in at a reasonable price, so had those done too. Also painted chimney at no extra charge, On top of all this they completed the job in 2 days. Could tell from first time I had Jose come out to give me a quote he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his business and painting, which I really liked. I would not hesitate to recommend MQ Painting to anybody. I guarantee you will be happy with the quality of work and price you'll receive from MQ Painting."

"BMB Painting was Fantastic. As per their proposal and our conversations, all the outside work was done impeccably and done at very reasonable rates. All the work was done in the time suggested and they prepped all work areas and cleaned up very well. We will be hiring them again for some inside painting in the future as well. I would highly recommend using BMB Painting!"

"We hired Certa-Pro to paint our kitchen and we couldn't be more pleased with the work they did and having us feel at ease with the process. Our kitchen has a lot of corners and high areas and wanted to update itwith a new color.  When Carmina came out to give us an estimate, she was friendly and quick with her assessment.  She even helped us pick a color as we were still debating on exactly what we wanted.  Once we decided that we wanted to go with Certa-Pro, it was a quick process to schedule the painters on when they would come in.  We ended up scheduling the job on a Saturday which was convenient for us, as my wife and I both work.  It was a one day job and both painters were polite and courteous, both asking the right questions to make sure they did the job correctly and answering our own questions about how they would do the job.  They even moved our appliances to
get the spots behind them, even though no one would ever see them.  I was very impressed with the care and attention to detail they demonstrated.  Afterward they cleaned up and left the kitchen as they found it.  Aside from the new color on the walls, you
never knew they were there.
I highly recommend Certa-Pro for any of your home paining needs.  You never know what you?re gonna get with some contractors but Certa-Pro quickly put us at ease, with both price and scheduling, we knew quickly we were in good hands.  We will defiantly call on them again for our future painting needs.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The opposite is actually true: Wood stains tend to appear lighter when they’re fully dry. However, stains may darken as they weather and oxidize with age. Stains might also darken on surfaces left in direct sunlight, as UV rays can break down pigment particles and cause them to darken over time.

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Yes, pressure-treated wood can occasionally turn green due to certain preservatives, such as copper-based chemicals, used during the treatment process. These chemicals react with the wood, creating a greenish tint. The good news? It's temporary, and the color will fade over time. Staining or painting can also help hide any unwanted hues.

Generally, these steps are included in exterior house painting:

  • Prepping and protecting the areas not being painted

  • Scraping away loose paint

  • Cleaning off dirt, grease, and debris

  • Caulking gaps and openings

  • Priming with a quality paint primer

  • Painting the prepared areas, including trim and accents with chosen paint finish

  • Adding a second coat

  • Cleaning up the site and disposing of tape, plastic, and drop cloths
