"Ken Turner Custom Painting beautifully restored almost the entire interior of my house. I chose this company because of the high ratings the company has received on Angie's List, and because the company removes wallpaper, which is no longer commonplace among painting contractors. The painters worked diligently and quietly and put in long hours when necessary to stay on schedule. l highly recommend this business, as the owner is very focused on customer satisfaction. I have already reserved time with them for another project in the spring."

"Troy was very professional in his approach to our project. He is very detail oriented and spent the time it took to make everything "just right". We have already gotten good reviews from our friends who have seen the finished product."

"Where do I start.... I called Dave once we closed on our house. The entire Interior / trim needed wallpaper removal, and fresh paint. Luckily I had and empty house to work with for about a month. He made sure he squeezed me in before we moved, which was a huge plus. After discussing my budget, we came to an agreement on a price that was more than reasonable. He and his team worked day / night / weekends to make sure it was done on time. I took forever to pick out colors, etc... and he never was impatient with me. He finished 90% of it on time, the other part was because I couldn't make a descision on color for that area. He came after we moved in and knocked that out promptly. Any touch ups, fixes etc that were needed, he came and did with no issue. He even took the liberty of going out and purchasing all the new air vents, and other things we needed. He even came back and repainted the kitchen completely after we wanted to change the color. I would highly recomend his company, and will use him again. Stand up guy."

"They did a great job. There were additional charges. They told me that they would bring it all but they never mentioned there was an extra fee. The big deal was $199 but I paid $63.50 more. They were really nice and professional. I would like to hire them again. It was odd that they never mentioned the extra charges. Initially when I bought the deal, I called them right away. I said "Hey, can I schedule an appointment for painting?" and he said "Well, I have to come and look at the area first." I said "Okay." He came and looked at the area and told me how much paint to buy which occurred to me that I didn't buy enough paint if he didn't come to look at it first. He was here for 5-10 minutes. He was nice enough. He said that he will get me on the schedule. He said "I'm not ready within two to three weeks. I will call you back." At that point, he got busy with everybody else. It took from whatever the day was to the month the deal was sold, it took two weeks from that to get an appointment. I emailed him four times and called him for three to four times. He apologized too, when he called me back. He said "I'm sorry, I've been busy." He said "Don't worry about the expiration date. I'm still going to honor it." Everything worked out fine. I think the work looks great, honestly. One thing that's my fault, if and when we have them come back. Our paint colors are really similar. One of the walls that he painted is completely the wrong color and it doesn't match the rest of the walls in the room."

FAQs for wallpaper service projects in Maple Park, IL

Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.

The average cost to hire a professional wallpaper hanger is around $575 per room, but it’s not uncommon to see prices range from $175 to $1,400 or more for a single room. Your total project cost depends on the wallpaper quality, room type and size, and whether you must remove old wallpaper. Since room size is one of the most significant cost factors, you can use a price between $1 and $7 per square foot to estimate your wallpapering labor cost.

It depends: You can wallpaper over non-coated wallpaper, but you should never wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper. This non-recommended method will cause the new wallpaper to fail to stick, which can lead to bubbling, imperfections, and even mold growth between the layers of wallpaper. Consult a professional wallpaper hanger to determine your existing wallpaper type or remove the current wallpaper and paste residue so that the new wallpaper will adhere properly.

Spring and fall are the best seasons to apply wallpaper because excessively hot or cold temperatures can cause issues with the paste used to attach the paper to the wall. A professional wallpaper hanger can help you decide if your home is too hot, cold, humid, or dry for the wallpaper to stick properly.

Hiring a professional wallpaper hanger is usually a worthwhile idea because, while the application of wallpaper itself is easy, getting the finished product to look good is complicated and takes a lot of practice and patience. A professional wallpaper hanger will not only be able to hang your wallpaper seamlessly, but they will also get an even application of wallpaper paste to avoid bubbling and imperfections immediately and over time. Plus, they can provide their professional opinion on whether to remove or wallpaper over an existing layer of wallpaper.
