Chicagoland Precision Painting

It went really well. Everything went great.

I have to update my last review of this company. My first & second experiences at my own home were so great that I recommended them to several of my friends. This is where the problem begins. My friend hired them to paint her condo and wallpaper a couple of walls. She hired them last fall for the project and it ended up being a total nightmare. I'm lucky to have such a great friend who didn't blame me and I'm happy to say it didn't ruin our relationship - but it definitely could have!!

My friend had them give her a quote and that went well. Then she told them what colors to paint the place and the placement for the wallpaper. When she came home from her business trip, the place was finished... sort of. They had painted all the walls the opposite of what she had told them and then tried to convince her that she was wrong and that they had done the colors correctly. It was also sloppy with drips every where.

Then she wanted to know why the baseboards hadn't been painted as had been agreed upon in the quote. They tried to tell her she hadn't asked for a quote on the baseboards. She showed them the quote which clearly stated the quote and agreement to paint the baseboards. As if this wasn't enough, they had incorrectly installed her very expensive, splurge worthy wallpaper!! And even worse, again they tried to tell her that the gaps between the seams in the wallpaper was how it was done - like it's cool for dark wallpaper to have white stripes in the middle of each section of wallpaper. Not ok. And definitely not correct. There is nothing I hate more than when someone tries to convince me that something is done correctly when clearly it isn't - and this was happening over and over!!
Eventually - as in this whole process took months to get fixed and was a lot of hassle and unresponsiveness - my friend's condo was painted correctly. And they fixed the wallpaper mostly - or at least as good as it could be.

Then, as a final insult, she was asked if she could write the check for the remainder owed - asap- the guy wanted to come by and pick it up that afternoon b/c he was leaving to go fishing the next day! Are you kidding?! They do it all wrong, try to convince her otherwise, take their sweet time responding to the various issues, even more time to fix it and suddenly they think they need to demand payment asap b/c he has to go fishing?!

It was incredibly embarrassing for me to have recommended them to my friend. I had no idea their service had declined so much in the year since I hired them. I'm just glad I didn't lose a friend over this... What a disaster!!

Would definitely have them work on our home again.  They cleaned up after themselves and left us with two beautifully painted rooms!

Jason repainted our wrought iron fence. It had a lot of rust on it, so a lot of grinding was required to prep it for paint. That took a day. On day 2 he did the painting. The fence looks great, the paint was applied liberally yet evenly, and Jason is very nice and very easy to work with.

Needed touch up painting on a quick turnaround inbetween renters. The initial estimate was more than what I wanted to spend. Jason was very amenable to working within the budget and getting the most doe that he could. Cleaned up after himself - the place was spotless.

I found them on Angie's List and then called and received a quote immediately after providing dimensions and pictures.  I provided my own paint but they offered their preferred customer number for the paint store to help accelerate the process.  On the day of they arrived promptly and began working.  I was also in the middle of moving from one unit to this new unit and I felt comfortable enough to leave the guys there while I drove between the two units.
Great work, great experience, and extremely easy!

I would use Jason's company again ANYTIME I needed paint or plaster work.  We had just completed some electrical work  in the unit, so  not only did he do a great job on the painting, but also patched many holes in the drywall and you cannot tell where they were at all!  He's an excellent painter and I would highly recommend him.

I received 3 bids and all three were very close.  Price-wise Chicagoland Precision Painting was in the middle, but I chose them because Jason offered a free color consultation and other reviewers had good things to say about his color help.   Jason was always on time (or early).  The crew worked very hard and they were able to finish the job in 3 days.  I'm very happy with the results.

The work was done in two days, including plenty of patching.  They cleaned up when they were done.  It would have taken us a few weekends to get everything done and it wouldn't have looked as nice.  Also something to note, they only use Benjamin Moore paint, and I had found a Sherwin Williams color I liked.  It was color matched exactly at JC Licht on N Clark.  Very happy with the results.  After the project was completed and they had already left, I noticed some of the settlement cracks were still sort of showing in a few spots.  I contacted Jason and he came out right away to assess the situation and agreed they needed a bit more patching.  He came back out and patched the two main areas I was concerned about, in addition to a couple others and repainted the long section that was affected.  It is seamless now.  I highly recommend them for your painting project.

I was very impressed with Precision Painting.  Jason was able to schedule an estimate during non-business hours (7 PM) so that I didn't need to take time off work.  Jason and his crew showed up promptly at 8 AM every day (never more than 5 mins late).  We had some plumbing issues while Jason was painting (leak requiring portion of ceiling drywall to be removed).  Jason assessed the problem and fixed (patch/paint the ceiling) at minimal cost.  I found Jason to be extremely trustworthy to the point that we felt comfortable giving Jason a key to our house (which we never do for contractors).  Paint job looks amazing with no paint spilled on carpet, furniture, etc.  Highly recommend.

I was extremely pleased with my experience with Jason at Chicagoland Precision Painting.  He responded to my initial inquiry very quickly and came out the very next day to provide an estimate.  His estimate was very reasonable for the amount of work we needed.  Once we contracted the work, he educated me on the benefits of non-toxic paint which I confirmed with my own research.  I agreed to utilize it and am very happy with the decision.  Jason also provided input on paint colors to accent our fireplaces and I am glad I agreed to follow his advice - they look great!  Finally, Jason and his employee were professional, punctual, and tidy.  The entire job only took about 2.5 days to complete and I've received numerous compliments.  I plan to use them again when I paint 2 additional bedrooms.

Overall, my experience was awesome. Jason and his team are reliable and very trustworthy and super friendly. I couldn't have gotten my new home done without his help!!!

Was the second time we've used Chicagoland Precison painting's services. As with the previous time, the estimate was fair and based on the first job, we had no problem in hiring them again. One bedroom and a hallway were pretty standard and look good with fresh coats of paint.. The second bedroom had a plaster wall that was in really rough shape; huge, deep cracks and old crusted paint. Jason worked some magic on the wall and it looks fantastic.

The job went a couple hours over on an extra evening due to the skim coat not completely drying in the expected time. No cutting corners to move on to the next job; Jason came back in the evening the next day that he could, ensuring that it had dried and was sanded properly. Further attesting to detail, in the process of fixing that wall, he decided that he'd have to paint the ceiling as well otherwise the room wouldn't look good. This was not in the original quote and he painted it free of labor charge.

Overall, another good experience with Chicagoland Precision Painting. Reasonable prices for great painting services with attention to detail.

I got a hold of Jason the first time I called him and was able to give me a ballpark estimate based upon the size of our condo, description and a copy of the layout.  When he came to do a walk through to confirm that ballpark a few days later that estimate held.  He was able to fit us in last minute (our first painter had to cancel), did an AMAZING job and all the work was done on time and per the schedule he gave us.  His estimate came in well under the two other quotes I received and in the end we couldn't be happier with the work performed.

In contrast to other painters we interviewed, Jason was very knowledgeable about the different paint formulations available, and had experience working with no-VOC paints.  He was very attentive to detail, both when giving a quote and during the job itself.  We needed the job done on a particular schedule and he met our needs perfectly.   Jason and his assistant were both prompt, friendly, and very professional.  When little unexpected things came up (like our hallway taking forever to dry on a humid day), they dealt with them without seeming bothered.  We're very happy with the quality of the painting they did, and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend.

Jason was able to work around my schedule.  Job was 3-4 days long.  Company is very flexible.  I would use them again.  What I like is he is very detailed and his work is very precise and professional. 

Went great.  Jason was out to give us an estimate quickly and had the estimate back to us very quickly.  Work started when he said it would and was completed a day sooner than expected.  Would absolutely use them again.

I first met Jason when I contracted with him to paint several rooms in my house.  Part of the reason I picked him for painting was b/c another Angie's List reviewer mentioned that he paints well & also does computer repair and I was in need of both.  As I got to know Jason during the painting projects & saw his impressive work ethic, I was comfortable handing over my laptop which had completely frozen and did not work at all.  The computer problem turned out to be a little more difficult than first expected, but Jason was determined to see it through and stuck to the original cost estimate even though it took considerably more time to repair.  He picked up & delivered the laptop.  The computer is working good as new.  Jason is responsible, trustworthy, and conscientious.  Please see my very positive review for his other company, Chicagoland Precision Painting.  

I am thoroughly pleased with Jason's work in all 3 rooms he painted in my home and highly recommend him.   I was concerned about the potentially messy removal of a wall mural that needed to be sanded off due to a textured finish.  Jason understood my concern about mess & dust and used a appropriate methods to minimize the mess.  As a result I was happily surprised at how little mess was made during  the removal of the mural and subsequent patching.  In general, Jason & his brother who helped on the projects cleaned up very well every day.  Jason helped us pick colors which ranged from the difficulty of finding the right white for one room, using a combination of bold colors in another, and coming to my rescue when I changed my mind for color for my kitchen.  He patiently helped me select a new color when I was having trouble and started over without missing a beat.  He stuck to his cost & time estimate perfectly. He was always punctual upon arrival and left for the day when he said he would.  He also updated my ceiling lighting & installed under cabinet lighting for me. All the rooms feel really transformed and look great!  Jason is conscientious, responsible, & trustworthy.  I got to know him and truly like him as a person as well.  He ended up helping me with other minor repairs around the house, never seeming to mind a little request here & there.  He is also very knowledgeable about computers and is starting a computer repair business.  I hired him to fix my laptop which he did successfully and plan to have him help me with other computer related issues.  Please see review for Jason in computer repair under the company name Chicagoland Computer Solutions.

From the quoting process through completion of work, Jason was extremely responsive and professional. He and his team were punctual and hard working. They did a great job of keeping the mess to a minimum and cleaning up at the end of each day. We are very happy with the work and will definitely hire them again whenever we need any painting done.

Despite unexpected problems (the house was too cold to paint and it took more coats than usual) Jason and his crew finished the job on time and at budget. He is a professional who knows his trade well and is a pleasure to work with. I would use his services again and I would definitely recommend him to friends!

Jason was responsive and professional. We had 4 or 5 quotes and we went with Jason because he seemed on top of things, and was very punctual. The job ended up taking more time than anyone had estimated because of previous wall damage, but Jason and his helper still finished things quickly and well.

This was my 3rd estimate - Jason promptly came to inspect the job. I had to send a reminder to receive the estimate - as it was a very busy time for the company - and I am glad that I waited for the estimate! The painting estimate was slightly lower than the other companies, the staining and sealing of the window frames was substantially lower. Jason was very helpful and provided advice with color selection, and I am very pleased with the result. Jason and helper completed the task on time. Jason is patient and sincerely wants his customers to be happy- he returned to removed some paint on the window without hestitation.
