"Overall was good for what the service is. The technician was a postal worker and home inspector. So mold test company appears to be brokers. Their pricing was competitive from other quotes I received but I honestly think it was pricey for time spent and what they do. But like I said the price was pretty standard from the companies I called, in my opinion. But the technician was attentive and knowledgeable, and friendly."

"When I went looking for flooring at a local store, the man said there was a good chance the tiles and glue were asbestos. My research indicated I could just cover the floor (encapsulate it) or remediate it. Even though it was expensive, I thought it best to remediate it. I used Angi's which is what I ALWAYS do and looked up service providers. I called a couple of them and got prices. Environmental was not the cheapest, but Maximus made me feel comfortable. He not only reviewed what needed to be done in the basement, he advised me about other things, as well. I felt like he really knew what he was doing, and he spent time with me. He gave me options, and I think he went above and beyond."

"Came home after about a week and a half away to some pretty extensive water damage in my kitchen due to a clogged drain on my buildingâ s roof. Kevin came out next day to do an assessment, and the day after that with his team to do the emergency removal of drywall, insulation, etc. and apply antimicrobial agent and set up fans and dehumidifiers to speed up the drying process. Explained every step of the process, next steps, is working with my insurance company, everything is taken care of. Removed a lot of anxiety for me. The work isnâ t done yet but Kevin and his team have been excellent so far and I have the utmost confidence that this restoration job will be completed to perfection. K-Savers is everything you need in a contractor: skilled, knowledgeable, courteous, responsiveâ ¦ just consummate professionals!"

"They were extremely professional and honest. They actually told me how I can do the work myself, so I could avoid hiring them for a small project. I appreciate the attention to detail, and that they provide a free analysis, which truly is free. They don't oversell, and they are reasonable and work with you."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes, mold under silicone caulk can potentially cause health issues, which may be more noticeable in people with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory conditions. Mold releases spores into the air, and inhaling these spores can cause symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, eye irritation, and skin rashes. It's important to address mold issues promptly to protect your health.

Yes, mold in the basement of your home will affect the conditions upstairs. Mold spores can travel through the air and into the supply vents of your home’s ventilation system. It is extremely important to remove any mold in your basement as soon as possible so it doesn’t affect the health of those living in the house.

The flooring that is the least toxic is solid wood. Natural linoleum, tile, stone, bamboo, and cork flooring also make the list of least-toxic flooring types. These flooring materials are safer and healthier for your home because they are natural materials that aren’t manufactured with chemicals, unlike laminate flooring. While some laminate flooring brands are made with less formaldehyde, many contain high levels of toxic chemicals that can off-gas in your home for months and years after installation.

Choosing natural flooring materials that are easy to clean without chemical cleansers can also help keep your home safer.

Yes, mold can grow in a wet dryer vent. Mold is a type of fungi, and fungi thrive in warm, moist conditions. Dryer vents need to be aired out so heat can escape and moisture can dry. If your dryer vents aren’t properly vented, the trapped heat and moisture will cause mold to grow, and the mold can spread to the dryer and even your clothes. Not only can this leave a musty smell on your freshly laundered clothes, but—more importantly—it also poses a health risk.

Mold is a fungus that typically grows in warm, moist environments, which is why it's so often found in bathrooms, attics, and under sinks. It survives by digesting decaying organic materials, which makes it very helpful for removing dead plant matter around the world. However, if it starts eating away at your drywall, window frames, and flooring, it can harm your home and your health.
