"Ramirez was prompt, and repaired the irrigation system. We have had no problems since. With hindsight, while happy with him and the quality of work, I feel the charge of $ 250 for 2 hours work was too high. Less than a plumber, but more than I paid in the past."

"Water Works did an outstanding job installing a drip irrigation system for us. From the time Lucio first arrived and surveyed the project until the crew completed the installation, everything was flawless. The work was done in a timely manner and everyone was courteous and professional. Many neighbors suggested I call them and I'm glad I did! I confidently recommend them to anyone looking for help with their lawns and gardens."

"The owner of the company came out on a Saturday to work on my sprinkler system. The system was in disrepair due to home owner neglict before I purchased this place. We walked through my entire system to see what was where, turned on the sprinklers manually to see how bad "bad" was. To my astonishment, the system was not as bad as I thought it would be. Roy figured out what was good/bad/ugly and gave me what I really needed to focus on. No upselling, no "replace everything and I'm happy to charge you", just straight talk and really professioal. Everything is now working and I'm in great condition. There are more things I want to get done in the future so he will be back. Of course, some of the things I want will be bigger jobs than today, but I'm confident he can handle them. I'm thankful that I found Dr. Sprinkler."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

The best grass type for shady areas depends on your region, your preferences, and your yard’s microclimate. Overall, the best cool-season grass for shade is ryegrass or tall fescue, while the best warm-season grass for shade is St. Augustine. But again, this can depend on what you’re looking for in the grass. The best grass for your shady yard might be one that looks good to you, one that tolerates high foot traffic, or grass with other characteristics that make it fit your lawn needs.

Bermuda grass is one of the fastest-growing warm-season grasses because of its system of aboveground stems (stolons) and below-ground stems (rhizomes). Adequate water and sunlight in a warmer climate will nurture the spread of Bermuda grass. This rapid growth rate makes Bermuda grass resilient and effective at choking weeds. However, this aggressive advancement can also make the grass difficult to contain and control.

Yes, some grass will germinate in two weeks or less but it will take several weeks more before it is established enough to walk (or nap) on. To grow grass quickly, follow the tried-and-true-steps carefully, starting with choosing a cool- or warm-season grass seed that flourishes in your home’s climate.

Yes, you can typically combine liquid aeration with other lawn treatments. However, follow the specific product's instructions and consider the compatibility of treatments. In most cases, liquid aeration can complement fertilization, overseeding, or weed control programs. Combining treatments strategically can address multiple aspects of your lawn's health and appearance simultaneously. Always read and adhere to the guidelines provided by the product manufacturers to ensure safe and effective application.

Routine lawn care costs between $50 and $250 per service, with an average of around $100. Most homeowners need one service per week through the spring and summer, and many switch to snow removal services in the winter. The price you’ll pay will depend on a few different factors:

  • Size of your lawn

  • Complexity of your lawn layout and obstructions

  • Requested services

  • Home’s location

  • How quickly your grass grows
