"Matt from Illinois Tree was able to stop out quickly and provide an on-the-spot & fair quote for removing an overgrown locust tree too close to my house. He was straight-forward and said that it would be three weeks before they could get to my job. Fortunately, with favorable weather, he was able to work me in sooner and get the tree cut within a week of setting up the job. The crew did a good job of cleaning up the yard and the deck of any excess debris. Everything went according to plan and they will be my first call for future tree service needs."

"Professional, reliable, did the job, cleaned up, removed one huge Oak tree, one medium Maple, amazing work! Great team of arborists! That is all they do is trees, not landscaping or side jobs! Showed up punctually, did the job efficiently, no damage to fence or shrubs, cleaned up, and looks great! Weâ ll worth the money, and weâ ll worth the price, actually lower than most! Even have videos is snippets of their work, if needed or desired! Pleasure song business with Nick! Highly recommended!"

"Welding was done on site... and in a timely and professional manner. My railings look brand new, and he installed new railings and gate for my neighbor. We both appreciated his attention to detail. I would recommend him for any construction job. I am presently using Crowbar for a new paver patio. Scott wonà  à  à  à ¢à  à  à  à  à  à  à  à  t disappoint !! He is very busy. Arborists questions, answered by experts

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.

Tree borers are difficult to control and remove once they make a home in your tree. However, with patience and determination, some methods can slow the damage or even eliminate the pests. But, once the damage is too much for the tree to handle, the only solution becomes removing it. Talk to a tree specialist early for the best chance at saving your tree.

Carefully pruning small roots no thicker than three inches in diameter won’t harm the tree. However, cutting larger roots may impact the tree's stability and nutrient absorption. It's advisable to consult an arborist or tree care professional to evaluate the root's size, the tree's health, and the potential impact of cutting. Proper tree pruning techniques and timing can minimize damage, but larger root removal may necessitate expert guidance to avoid compromising the tree's overall health and stability.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.
