"We had a large graduation party happening on a Sat & realized a bad smell was coming out of the sewer drain of ground floor on Tues. The first estimate told me we needed to dig up the pipe (which was under 1.5ft concrete AND a finished tile floor w/ embedded radiant heat pipes) because there was definitely a hole or a backflow there causing poop sewage to sit in the p-trap and it was an emergency health hazard. The estimate was $4500-7000. I spoke to Trinidad who had called me second and told him what they were advising and he said “why don’t you try just flushing the line yourself with a garden hose and some Clorox or pineal and see what happens, because if there was a hole in the p-bend there would be no water there” plus the smell would have been godawful.
