We only subcontract out work that we are not qualified to do ourselves (i.e. carpentry repairs) but we only will subcontract out to a contractor that we work with on a regular basis and one that we trust to know that they will complete the required work at a level acceptable to us. We require the final payment to be made within 5 days of the completion of the job (some jobs do require a deposit). We give our customers the ability to see the painting work completed in various lighting to make sure they are completely satisfied with the work completed. We also accept credit cards as a form of payment.

Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

While you technically can put wallpaper in a bathroom, it doesn’t mean you should. Bathrooms are high-humidity areas, but if your bathroom is well-ventilated, it can work, especially depending on the placement. If the wallpaper is installed away from direct water contact, like a vanity or accent wall, it will hold up better than if it were directly next to the shower. 

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

Most experts would not recommend hanging wallpaper over existing wallpaper more than twice. Even if the walls are in good condition and primed well, that third layer of wallpaper could cause problems with adhesion. Unless you like bubbling paint and peeling wallpaper as an interior design choice, it’s better to remove at least one existing layer before adding any more to a wall.
