"We contacted the web service and within less than five minutes had a phone call from Off Shift. Robert is very professional, efficient and reasonably priced. He asked how soon we wanted the work done which was a soon as possible. He came within two hours. He cut our lawn in no time even though it was quite high. He weed whipped, raked and used a blower on the sidewalk and drive as well. Robert is accommodating , pleasant , thorough and does a superb job."

"Due to surgery, Jon Chapman's right arm was immobilized, but he was able to subcontract in a timely manner and oversee the work of a great painting crew. So we have been pleased with the results."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A deck that isn’t attached to a house is called a floating or freestanding deck. These standalone decks are built near ground level, so they usually don’t need deck stairs. Some don’t even require permits. Generally speaking, building a floating deck is faster and more DIY-friendly than constructing one that’s connected to your home.

Increases livable area and enhances aesthetic, often boosting property appeal.

Building a deck without a permit could lead to fines for both the homeowner and the contractor. The exact penalties will depend on your state and municipal building laws. You might also be required to remove the deck and apply for a permit before you can build another. While it might be tempting to skip the permit to save a few bucks, it’ll cost you much more if you’re caught.

If you have wood decking, there are several common deck problems that you might encounter. For example, your natural wood boards may fade over time due to things like sunlight, weather, and debris. On top of that, some types of wood decking can rot, grow mold, and attract destructive pests—including termites, carpenter ants, and woodpeckers.

A sunroom is worth installing on a deck, both for the value and your own enjoyment. A Florida room addition costs between $10,000 and $140,000, so it’s pretty expensive. However, a quality sunroom can offer a 50% return on investment, making your home more sellable. Plus, if it’s a space you and your family enjoy relaxing in daily for years to come, it’s worth the money, time, and effort, even without the added monetary value.
