"When I replaced the exterior fascia in November, it was too cold to paint. We had made arrangements to reconnect in the spring so I could finish up the repair. Unfortunately, neither myself, nor my client remembered to schedule the painting portion, and the next thing I know is I get this review. Upon learning of this review, I have called, left a message, and texted this client to clear things up. She didn't answer and has not responded."
"I'd like to point out that I run my business with integrity, and I would never speak ill of a client. I believe in customer service and helping people achieve their goals. I however can not allow myself to let false accusations fly about my business and quality of work. Here are the facts... Now I gave the client the benefit of doubt and agreed to work with him even though there were many unprofessional red flags. I own that. Please understand both sides of this situation and make your own assessment. #1) On the first day of work, there were two large men, dressed in all black, scoping out the house. As I walked in with my tools, they came up to me and started telling me they did a lot of HVAC work for this client, this client owed them money, and that he'd refused to pay. The homeowner told me not to worry about this and made them leave... #2) To properly install drywall and create the best quality work you need to put on multiple coats of 'mud' and sand. The homeowner chose to do all his own painting throughout the project. He painted on top of my first coat of mud, effectively sealing it and making it impossible to sand out any imperfections. Compounded with the horrible paint job he did, you can see where his comments came from. What you don't see is him taking responsibility and causing the timeline to be pushed back. #3) At the halfway point of the project, I asked for the second payment as it was stated in my contract. When I asked him for the installment, he said that he changed the contract terms and sent it to me without my approval or knowledge of the fact. #4) When it was time to settle up upon completion of the project, the homeowner decided to bring up that he cleaned the job site while I was away, so he should be compensated for his time and wanted to pay me less. I allowed him to take some money off just to appease him. Even with all that, I had made arrangements with this client to go back and take care of whatever he was unhappy with. Two days before our scheduled time for touch ups, he puts up this review and threatens to sue me. I am a small business owner that loves my job and is excited to help people on their projects. I also respect myself, loyal clients, and future clients and want them to have all facts. I am definitely going to be more cautious of whom I decide to work with after this as there is no amount of money worth going through that again."
"Katie is a very nice woman. She was a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, I could not satisfy her. Solving some of her issues required real inventive solutions that I'm certain others would have walked away from. I solved them. I did quite a bit of work for her, from drywall to painting, making her furniture safe for her children to finish carpentry, even electrical. In the end, she is upset about the cheap Chinese fan she purchased and I installed for her, and a couple of spots of paint. I gave her a great price for all the work I did, and still, she talked me down in the end. I would like to remedy the situation, but sometimes it is best to part ways. I wish her the best for her future."
