"Let's see, where do I start? We had our windows replaced last year by Integrity Windows and Siding. We like the company so much, we hired them to replace our old aluminum siding with vinyl siding. They took off all of old stuff, insulated and wrapped the house, installed new siding, gutter, facia and soffat. We are over and beyond pleased with the work. Howard, the owner has a perfect name for his business, 'Integrity'. He is honest, not pushy and returns phone calls immediately. We could not have gone with a better company. Highly recommend!!"

"A&D communicated with me throughout the process. This was a small job that involved searching for siding to match what I had. It took A&D about a week to find and acquire suitable siding. Once it was in hand the work was done quickly."

"The whole process was seem less from the moment I spoke with them. Arek was punctual, informative and made us feel comfortable. His team did a great job getting our roof done on time and it looks great. They cleaned up after and left our place looking great. We would absolutely use them again for any roofing or siding needs. "It went extremely well. I got an excellent estimate and they came in under that. The workers were professional, thoughtful of the property, and at the end, you would not have known they were there. My property was immaculate. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"If you are looking for a quality roof, siding and gutter contractor, this is who you'll want to call first! Chuck was very knowledgeable in helping me to deal with the whole insurance claim process. He took pictures from the rooftop to show me the damage, which I was able to forward to my agent. He was very good with customer service. He had a crew that worked very efficiently to finish the job on time. They were courteous and respectful. They cleaned everything up when they were finished. They used high quality materials. My roof went from the worst on the block to the best on the block. My neighbor was so impressed with the work, that she hired the M Construction to replace her roof. Hers looks great too! Other contractors just wanted to get the eagle view of the property to see how much the job was worth and try to set up an appointment with the adjuster. Some wouldn't even go up on the rooftop to view the damage. If you want a full-service contractor, that cares about his customers, this one is definitely a good one! I am very happy that my roof was done right, worked within the insurance claim budget, and looks great!"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can shou sugi ban existing siding, but it might pose a hazard to wooden structures, shouldn’t involve treated wood, and must be done by a siding professional. You can not char wood on a house without first removing the boards, so it’s a more complicated replacement project than other siding types.

You should plan to stain or refinish your home's cedar siding every three to seven years to maintain its appearance and provide maximum protection, though some estimates suggest a range of four to six years. The exact frequency depends on several factors, including your local climate, exposure to severe weather like direct sunlight, rain, and wind, the quality of the initial stain application, the type of stain used, and the overall condition and quality of the wood.

For homes in harsh climates with high humidity and significant sun exposure, you should plan on staining as often as every three years, while those in milder locations may only need to do so every seven years. For the longest-lasting protection in particularly harsh climates, consider using an opaque stain.

If you are looking for a lower-maintenance alternative, you might consider vinyl or aluminum siding. While the initial installation cost can be higher, they do not require as much upkeep and can offer more value over time, especially in areas with excessive rainfall or high humidity.

Different types of siding provide unique aesthetic and structural features, with each material commanding its own cost. Availability of materials and shipping costs also factors largely into the cost. The common types of siding materials include:

  • Stucco: $7–$9 per square foot

  • Wood: $1–$15 per square foot

  • Engineered wood: $1–$6 per square foot

  • Aluminum: $3–$6 per square foot

  • Fiber cement: $5–$14 per square foot

  • Brick: $10–$20 per square foot

  • Brick veneer: $3–$10 per square foot

  • Stone: $7–$30 per square foot

  • Stone veneer: $5–$11 per square foot

Stucco siding is the most energy-efficient option on its own, but you can choose insulated vinyl, insulated metal, or insulated brick or stone facade siding that improves energy efficiency even further. These options include a layer of foam insulation under the siding to reduce heat transfer between your living space and the exterior. If you live in a particularly sunny climate, a reflective option like insulated steel or aluminum siding can maximize efficiency.

Typically 1-2 days, depending on damage extent and panel availability.
