"Excellent. Eric did a great job. He was quick but thorough and explained what he was doing along the way. Also, as a bonus, he told me where I could get an odd-shaped light that I had been trying to replace with no luck for a long time. I would definitely use Scott Nelson Electric again."

"Danny was awesome! Our 25 ft entrance desperately needed a new light fixture and he managed to replace it by himself, which was impressive. He also added a dimmer switch for us, and replaced 2 other fixtures/ ceiling fans, all in under 4 hours. Quality work done fast with excellent communication: 5 stars all around. Highly recommend."

"On November 15th Chicago was hit with some extreme wind gusts that caused my water heater pilot light to extinguish. I thought this was a simple reset, but the problem was more complicated. I learned the electrode was defective. Had I undertaken this project as a DIY, I would have spent more time than I would have cared to try to figure out why I could not get a flame for my water heater. I was smart to call Four Seasons. My technician figured out the problem quickly. There are times when calling a professional makes sense. I am not an expert on water heaters outside of knowing how to turn it on, clean it periodically, and knowing when I need a new one. Thank you Four Seasons for responding quickly and bringing me hot water."

"The staff is wonderful and I would highly recommend their service. There were two guys here installing the unit and it took about 6 hours to do the work. They hauled away the old unit, even worked on some of ducts and slabs on the exterior."

"Homer was communicative and prompt when he came to provide me with an estimate. I received estimates from multiple electricians, and Homer was the only one to talk through various options to address my needs. (I was having difficulty charging my new EV on the exisiting outlets.) Like all licensed electricians, the work is not cheap, but he was able to find a solution that saved me a significant amount of money- and said he would discount that cost if I ended up needing to do the more expensive EV charger installation. He even followed up with me the next day to see if the fix was still working. Highly recommend!"

"Gary did a great job. He communicated with me promptly to set up the appointment and was able to come early. He ran the line, installed the switch for the light and fan and cleaned up in the said time. Would defiantly use him again."

"Nick replaced the diffuser, cleaned coils & filters, & kindly left his thermometer & sensors so we could monitor the frig/freezer temps. He will return this week (07.15.19) to install a permanent fix for the door."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, your house's age can affect how much it costs to install new light fixtures. If you have a very old house with an equally old wiring system, then chances are you'll need to update your wiring to accommodate your new fixtures. It can take anywhere from one to three or more hours to update an old house's wiring for a new light fixture, and since electricians charge by the hour, you'll want to factor this extra time in when budgeting for the project.

Pendant lights make a worthy addition to your home lighting, and you can find them in almost every style. The average cost to install a light fixture is $550, and labor is the highest cost. You can DIY a light fixture replacement in an afternoon and save a couple of hundred dollars, depending on the fixture. If you’re not confident working with electrical components, an electrician in your area can easily install your pendant lighting for you.

The cost of installing light fixtures can vary due to the wide range of factors that affect the price. The type of lighting fixture, ranging from track lighting to a chandelier, impacts the installation cost, with ceiling-mounted fixtures being the most budget-friendly. You should also consider the labor costs associated with removing the existing light fixture, if necessary, and installing the new one. Don’t forget that the purchase price of the new or replacement fixture is separate from the installation price tag.

Yes, tackling blown fuses and broken light bulbs is definitely safe. Fixing the wiring on a strand of Christmas lights isn’t a good idea, though, because of the danger of shock and fire. However, if you don’t feel comfortable working with any type of electricity, consider hiring a professional Christmas light installer to manage the job safely and efficiently.

Combining different shapes with your chandelier and table can be a stylish way to add depth to your dining room. Whether you’re using a round chandelier over a rectangular table or a square chandelier over a round table, the general sizing principle is the same: Measure the narrowest point of the table and the widest point of the chandelier so you don’t end up with a fixture that overwhelms the space.
