Patrick arrived as scheduled and was courteous and efficient. He was able to solve our electronic lock problem quickly. He also removed a secondary knob and installed a new knob in its place. We appreciated the prompt service we received from him and Prime Locksmiths!

Tried calling another locksmith, who could not come but referred me to ASAP. Called Frank Garza at ASAP in afternoon, we texted back and forth so I could send him info, then he arrived around 8 p.m. to replace about 10 locks and replace car keys. He did this quickly and efficiently.

The primary difference is the access method: smart locks use a login or code instead of a physical key, which adds convenience. While not inherently safer, some smart locks have added security features that can deter intruders, like shutting down after too many incorrect code attempts or being harder to pick. For the best security, it's recommended to combine any lock with other home safety features like motion-activated lighting, security cameras, and window and door sensors.

There are several ways to add security to a sliding glass door. To start, install a rod or deadbolt lock instead of the flip-lock that comes standard with most sliding glass doors. Add a sensor to the door and monitor any activity through your home security system.

Finally, installing shatterproof window film will help keep the structural integrity of the glass if it cracks.
