Since radon typically comes out of the soil, it is most commonly found in the lower levels of a home. In houses with basements, that's a common location for radon. Homes built directly on the ground may have radon on the ground floors. Radon can be found on the upper floors of the home, but often in lower concentrations than in lower levels.

Both plumbing inspection cost and length can vary widely based on the specifics of a property. For a larger home, historic home, or rental complex, a full plumbing inspection can take a full day. Put aside at least eight hours from the start of the visit to ensure that you'll be available to answer any of the plumber's questions. However, a thorough inspection of the average one-story to two-story home lasts just two to three hours.

Waiving a home inspection could be beneficial if you’re buying a home in a hot location where the seller has many other offers to consider, especially if other buyers are willing to waive the inspection. However, it’s not usually a good idea to waive an inspection, even on new construction. Inspections can identify problems that could cost thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars, so a formal inspection is always worthwhile. If you’re having a new home built, a pre-drywall inspection is often the most valuable, but a final inspection before you close is also a good idea.
