"The window tinting looks amazing and solved our problem! Our son's room stays nice and dark while still being able to see the trees outside. Excel Window Tinting is fantastic! I highly recommend using this company for all of your tinting needs."

"We needed a repair to a window that had cracked. We thought the only option was to replace the whole window. We received several quotes and because of the size of the window the quotes were over $1000.00. My husband found glass.com on Home Adviser and within minutes they replied to his request. They had someone out to measure within a day and then that same day had the quote to us for under $300.00! The repairman came today and was 10 minutes early and within an hour had the window glass replaced! I would highly recommend glass.com for any window repairs you need. Very reputable company!"

Emergency services offered

"I can't put into words how refreshing it was dealing with this company.  I had a late night emergency after heavy snow fell in my area.  The awning on the 2nd floor of a 3-flat I own got crushed by the snow and ripped out of the brick.  Basically it was hanging there and about to either break the glass of the second floor apartment, or fall off the building and do even more damage.  It was about 11pm on a Friday night and I started calling any company I could that said they had "emergency services."  However, most of them sounded like I was waking them up or disturbing them.  Finally, I found Busy Bee on the internet and gave them a call.  The man that answered at about 12am (I'm sorry I forgot his name) sounded wide awake and completely professional.  He told me he'd have someone out within a half hour or so and he actually did!  Although the job was too big for the single tech that was on call at the time (it was a large awning on the second floor), the tech still went up there to make sure that the awning was strong enough to at least make it to the morning.  The man I had spoken with earlier called me back and assured me he'd have 2 guys out there in the morning to take it down altogether for me.  Sure enough, he followed through and had it taken down.  The amazing part in my mind is that not only did they have outstanding customer service, but they didn't make me pay a crazy price for using their emergency service and then sending two guys.  I thought the $250 they billed me was extremely fair.  I can't count the number of times I've been utterly disappointed dealing with companies during an emergency situation.  These guys were incredibly helpful.  It was a refreshing experience to say the least and I'd without a doubt recommend these guys!"

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

Window security film has a few key benefits that make it an enticing home improvement:

  • It’s much more affordable than shatterproof windows or hurricane windows.

  • It improves your home’s energy efficiency and can save money on heating and cooling bills.

  • It makes it harder to break into your home.

  • It helps prevent dangerous shattered glass after an impact.

  • You can tint it to provide additional protection from the sunlight.

You can easily and cheaply use tin foil or cardboard to black out your windows. Save a pretty penny by cutting either material to the size of your windows and taping it to the window. This is one of the easiest and most budget-friendly blackout solutions, but it definitely isn’t the most aesthetically friendly.

Expert installation optimizes insulation properties, cutting energy costs and enhancing home comfort year-round.

Cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, are the most energy-efficient and insulating window treatments. Their honeycomb structure is made of soft fabric that forms layered cell pockets. These pockets trap air, creating a thermal barrier that reduces heat loss in the winter and blocks heat gain in the summer. For even greater insulation, consider double- or triple-cell varieties. Side-tracked cellular shades, which seal the edges of the window frame, can further minimize air leaks and maximize energy efficiency.

Clean with non-abrasive cleaners and a soft cloth, avoiding ammonia-based products that can degrade the film.
