"First a bit of back story, so you can see how Turner Custom Painting managed to turn around what was becoming a nightmare! I had hired a handyman to complete a list of fairly basic projects, unfortunately this gentleman proved to be very unreliable.  It had gotten to the point that my back was against the wall, I was expecting people on Tuesday, had moved stuff all around to make it easier for him to work, I needed the job completed and time to put my house back in order.  We were about 2 weeks in, he had cancelled on me 5 days, after leaving last Tuesday, promising to return the next day, he called each day and said that he had to reschedule, I texted him explaining that I was up against the wall time-wise and he hadn?t even replied.
I started looking at Painters on Angie's list and the first one that caught my eye was Turner Custom Painting, I texted their info to myself and then sent them a text message, briefly explaining my situation & the work I needed completed.  I then started to look at other providers figuring that it was going to be a challenge to find someone on a Sunday morning that would be able
to come out on Monday.
Before I even had the chance to contact anyone else, Ken, of Turner Custom Painting called me back.  We discussed the situation that I was in and to my amazement; he offered to come out right away, on a Sunday!  Before long, he and his partner were here.  We walked through the tasks and he quoted me a price of $260, I was thrilled!
Next, we needed some additional supplies and since I wasn't confident making the purchases myself, Ken and Joe (his co-worker) unloaded their tools, Joe began getting things set up and Ken and I ran out to pick up the rest of the items that we needed.  We got back, Joe had made a great start and soon they were both focused on completing my projects.  When I noticed that my bathroom door frame also needed a touch up, it didn't faze them at all to add in that as well.  Same thing with the air vents, although I had forgotten to mention them on our walk-thru, they cheerfully added them to the list.
Both gentlemen were very nice and comfortable to be around.  As we neared the end, we noticed that one spot was still bleeding through, so Ken used a special oil based primer (I believe that it was), as that took a long time to dry, I told him that I could easily put a final coat of paint on that small area the next day.  He ensured that I had the tools to take care of it, and that I was comfortable doing it (clearly, he would have returned to do it himself if I hadn't insisted that I had no problem taking care of that tiny task on my own).
Once everything was done perfectly, and they started to take down the plastic, tarps & such, I was taking the opportunity to wipe down my living room baseboards in spots where heavy furniture is usually in the way. While doing so, I noticed a small dot of paint and start to wash it off, Joe "caught me" lol and INSISTED that "they" would take care of all of that clean up.  They next tackled replacing my furniture that had been carefully covered by tarps.  As I had weeks ago moved a good bit of furniture and decorative items in other rooms to make the work easier, when they discovered me moving in an end table, they took it from me and insisted that I show them everything that belonged in the room and allow them to put it all back where it belonged, and so they did and made sure that everything was cleaned up perfectly!
A side note, when it was clear that they were going to complete my task list, I texted the other gentleman letting him know that I would no longer require his services, he did not take this well (even though he had blown me off 5 days and hadn't even replied when I told him that I was up against the wall time-wise AND I had already paid him for much more than he had completed).  He was making threats & making me nervous and Joe noted that.  Although they live on the other side of the city and had other work to do, clearly Joe wanted to come back and save me from having to deal with this irate man, who needed to pick up the equipment that he had left lying around my place for weeks.  Given that the other guy was known for being hours late when he did come, no way I could allow Joe to take that on, although I certainly appreciated his concern.  Ken & Joe helped me move all of the other guy?s equipment down to my garage, so that I wouldn't have to let him back in my house.
The next morning, I managed allow the other man to get his stuff, without allowing him an opportunity for any confrontation he may have wanted to engage i.  Outside of a nasty final text from him, at last, it was all over.  He was out of my life and thanks to Turner Custom Painting, my "to do" list was completed perfectly!  Joe even called me that morning, to ensure that the "equipment exchange" went ok and that all was well.
Obviously, Turner Custom Painting, who turned my nightmare into a dream come true, will be the first ones that I call for my next project!
