"5 Star removed and replaced the crumbling concrete step and the spalling stoop of our condo building and 80 feet of sinking sidewalk along a heavily trafficked and sloped public way. The work far exceeded expectations. 5 Star was communicative and punctual leading up to the construction day. On the morning of construction day, 5 Star's crew arrived before the scheduled start time to set up and prep the area, so actual work began exactly at the agreed-upon start time. Demolition and removal was precise, quick and thorough. The company president himself supervised the concrete pour and worked onsite until the job was completed, actually doing all of the precision work of constructing concrete stairs and shaping a new sidewalk, with a special eye for grading the sidewalk surface with our irregular terrain. 5 Star used premium materials in the pour. Throughout the day, families and other passersby stopped to watch the work, and it became a small community affair. One retired neighbor, who had worked in construction, sat on a park bench and marveled at the work all day, commenting what a professional team this was. The job was completed by mid-aftgernoon, and cleanup was given as much attention as the construction; except for the "Wet Cement" caution tape, you'd never know so much work had just been done on the site. The four-man crew was friendly, considerate and professional."

"I cannot praise this company enough! We loved working with them, and they did excellent work. They are highly responsive - and very courteous. We sought bids from 3 contracts on Angie's List. One never bothered to reply. A second told us - without talking to us - that the job would be too small. And then there was J & P Brothers Landscaping. :-) Juan replied within a few hours to set up an appointment. He was at our house the next day to see what the job entailed. Once we signed off on the work, we were on his calendar quickly -- within a few days. They showed up when promised. The only day they didn't come as planned was due to storms - and thankfully, they put off the sanding for a day or we would have had a huge mess. The tricky part about repairing pavers is getting things back the way they were. (The last time we hired a company for a similar job, we were told it was too hard to get pavers back in their original position, so we should really just replace everything. Puh-lease.) Juan had a system down for making sure all the pavers went back to their original place. He and his crew thoroughly cleaned out the old sand, moss and weeds that had taken over. They reinforced the repaired sections to ensure things stay where they are. They tidied up after themselves every day. (The only thing that was messy was the powerwashing. It blows a lot of gunk everywhere. Totally NOT their fault. Just mentioning it so that you are prepared if you are considering similar work. Move as much as you can - planters, furniture, etc. -- well out of the way.) The end result is a gorgeous patio and sidewalk that look brand-new. Even my 11-year-old was impressed. ;-) It rained the day after they finished - the lake is gone! This project was well worth every penny we paid. There is no way we ever could have done this job ourselves - much less done it to the level of excellence they did. I was so pleased with the work that they did that we asked them to bid on a second job before they finished the first one. "Dan completed a massive reworking of our back yard. He had to remove a huge amount of soil and old railway ties and a very ugly old broken stone type patio. He then leveled the space, and laid down two separate blue stone patio areas as well as a wooden deck area. He put down new sod and laid out a beautiful pathway design through the grass connecting the blue stone areas. Dan was easy to communicate with and listened well, he also tactfully reigned us in when our ideas became too eccentric."
