"Lee from Spartan Plumbing replaced ALL of the Polybutylene* pipes in my home with new PEX, stubbed for a water softener and Reverse Osmosis unit, added a hot water re-circulation loop and pump (with timer), updated my washer/dryer water valves and waste drain, added a new refrigerator shut off valve, and relocated the main water shut off valve from way under the crawl space to the crawl space entrance. Everything was so professionally done even the plumbing inspector complemented his work during the inspection. Lee was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him to take care of your plumbing needs. *If your home was built in the 1980s - 1990s have it checked for Polybutalyne plumbing. It is a ticking time bomb that can burst without warning. Don't take my word for it.. go read up on it."

"We had a major leak in our crawl space and Boise Family Plumbers identified and fixed the problem quickly and correctly. Thomas also noticed a few things that werenâ t to code and fixed those as well to prevent further problems. Very professional service and a reasonable price. A very good value for my home. I would highly recommend this company and plan to use them for any future plumbing needs."

"Do not let the Company Name mislead you. At first I hired Idaho Drainage Solutions to install drains in the front yard. During that time, I learned I could rehire them to completely revamp my front yard. I was presented with plans and a drawing, which on paper was exactly what I envisioned. The finished project was perfectly executed. I am more than pleased having had the privilege working with Brian Esquivel and his team."

French Drains FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, frozen pipes can cause a toilet to stop working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which can lead to two main problems. First, the supply line to the toilet tank may be frozen, which prevents the tank from refilling with water after you flush. Second, the drain pipe itself can freeze, blocking water from flushing away. As a temporary solution for a non-refilling tank, you can manually add water, but this is not a long-term fix. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try pouring warm water into the toilet bowl or tank and then flushing, as the warm water may help thaw the ice blockage. Ultimately, the best course of action is to unfreeze the affected pipes to restore your toilet to full functionality.

No. You should dispose of all oil-based finishing products through a local hazardous waste program. Not only can oil-based finishes be hazardous for the environment if disposed of in the sink, but they can cause clogs in your pipes and stop up your drains. Most municipal garbage or waste disposal companies have a specific location or pick-up schedule for hazardous materials, so that’s your best bet to get rid of excess finishing products.

Yes, chemical drain cleaners contain sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, both of which are not only dangerous to your health but also extremely caustic. Drain cleaners will corrode your pipes and could lead to destroyed drain lines, especially if the chemicals interact with the piping for long periods. Unfortunately, this extended interaction is likely if you’re dealing with a clog, as the drain cleaner will have just as much trouble as water does moving through your plumbing system.

You’ll need to stop or pause the machine using its control panel to start the draining process mid-cycle. Remove the items inside, turn off the power to the machine, and then follow the steps above to drain the machine manually.

Once you’ve poured the baking soda and vinegar into a drain, you should wait about 10 minutes for the mixture to break down the clog. If you try the baking soda and vinegar method and it doesn't work, you can do it again or try the baking soda and salt trick.
