"Kevin and his team, are one of the best contractors I've ever worked with. I had a new Lennox Signature series furnace installed. From the start Kevin was straight forward and honest. Got a timely quote and help with financing. His crew worked overtime to install my new furnace and they did this with lots of attention to detail. Don't hesitate hire Alpine Summit for your work You wont be disappointed!"

"The installation crew came on time and started by putting down protective cloths on the floor. We had three exhaust fans replaced and the work went as planned - the fans were over thirty years old and one was making a lot of noise, so we decided to just replace the other two as a pro-active measure. The installation crew and the estimator were all great."

"Cassie, the service person from Aire Serv, did an outstanding job. She clearly knew her job and was able to explain everything to me in a way that made me feel comfortable and confidant. I've used other heating and air conditioner companies in the past and felt they did an okay job but never felt the service people were up to the level of this person, or felt they were pressuring me to buy something. There was no pressure from Cassie.
I will use Aire Serve in the future and, based on what Cassie told me, I have confidence all their people are good, but I will request her for future service.

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"ProMax Mechanical is an outstanding resource for any size hydronic floor heating system. I have been in the design and construction industry for over 35 years and can report that their quality, attention to detail, and hands-on commitment to perfection is unequaled. The business is operated by two brothers who are both hands-on in the design and installation of all systems. They recently completed an 8,000sf house with 2,000sf garage and 2,000sf heated driveway apron for me. The system was a multi-manifold, multi-valve modulated condensing boiler system that required a very high level of expertise for installation. Kyle Smith personally completed the majority of the install, and every aspect of his work was completed to perfection. My copper piping work is so perfect that other subcontractors often photograph it!! I give them my very highest recommendation and assure that you can trust them with any project, large or small, simple or complex. Thanks Kyle and Ryan!"

"Steve is polite, professional, and honest. I explained what my overall end-state for upgrading my entire heating and cooling system in my 130 year old house, and he delivered. Not only was he THOUSANDS of dollars lower than the next estimate, he made sure the demo of the old system and install of the new, energy efficient system was done timely and appropriately. My old, beautiful house now has central heat and A/C."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

If you go to turn it counterclockwise and it won’t turn anymore, it’s open. Like most other valves, you should be able to turn a radiator valve counterclockwise (to the left) to open it and clockwise (right) to close it. To close a radiator valve, turn it clockwise until you meet some resistance and can’t turn anymore, but do so carefully to avoid breaking the valve.

You can use a boiler and a furnace, although it’s not common to use both for whole-house heating. For example, your furnace may take care of HVAC heating through your vents, while a boiler powers your floor-based radiant heating in the bathrooms. Mixing and matching like this gives homeowners a variety of heating possibilities.

The cost to install a steam boiler varies depending on the type, fuel used, and your house size. The average cost to install a boiler is $5,900. You could spend $2,000 for a basic electrical steam boiler or up to $9,000 for a high-efficiency oil-burning steam boiler. Boiler installation is a job that’s best left for professionals to complete, and, in some states, only licensed installers can legally complete the job.

It can take anywhere from four hours to three days to replace a boiler with a new one. How long your particular boiler installation takes will depend on whether you need a gas line installed and if you’re switching to a new boiler system.

Replacing a combination boiler or standard boiler with the same system should only take four to six hours. Meanwhile, switching from a conventional boiler system to a combination boiler system could take a few days.

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.
