"After getting several estimates, I asked Brett to come over to provide an in-person estimate. He sent a very reasonable estimate that included demolition and haul-away of some cement work in my backyard. He also asked if I wanted to add 2 yards (give or take) of large granite rocks along my fence line that I've been wanting to dispose of and be hauled away, for a small additional cost. He showed up on time and made quick work of the cement walkway and the fire pit area, as well as the granite rocks. Brett is a friendly, professional, and he has the skills, knowledge, and the right equipment to get the job done in a timely fashion. He cleaned up whatever mess there was, and it looks great for the next phase of my backyard renovation. I would highly recommend him and his company for any demolition needs. Here are the before and after photo's."

"Josiah was very friendly and I was so appreciative of him taking the time to answer my questions on a Sunday afternoon. He was very upfront with me and let me know that there would be better alternatives for people to complete the job I needed which was so refreshing!!! I highly recommend him to anyone needing excavation jobs in the area!"

"Austin did an excellent job removing and hauling off a few very large old tree stumps with his excavator. He's very skilled running the equipment he brought out. We will ask him for help again in the future."

Small jobs welcome

"David is a great local small business owner. My wife and I chose him because of the 30+ years of experience, his fair pricing, his responsiveness and timeliness throughout. We live in Meridian where a lot of new construction homes have bad drainage and needed help with putting french drains at our home and our parentsâ home. David was great at explaining to us the issues/differences between what needed to be done in both yards. He took care of the entire excavation (both with excavator and manual), as well as took care of the dirt removal, brought new gravel and everything. His value for the money is top notch. We highly recommend him."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.

Hardscaping often requires preparation of the ground in the area where the feature is being installed. This can include digging, compacting, and leveling the soil, ensuring adequate drainage, and removing any existing plants. The extent of preparation needed will depend on the type and size of the hardscaping feature being installed.

A perc test can take anywhere from one to eight hours to complete. The total time depends on factors like the amount of excavation required, the depth and width of the holes, and whether multiple test holes are needed. For a single hole, the process of filling it with water and monitoring the drainage rate usually takes less than an hour. Professionals can often complete the entire test in a single day. While it's possible to get results the same day, some companies may take a few days to provide the official report.

Yes, trenchers can go through gravel. Gravel is made up of smaller, softer rocks that certain trenchers are able to cut through. Just be sure to use a rock wheel trencher or chain trencher, both of which are made to cut through rocky landscapes and gravel pathways without dulling the teeth or chain.

Depth is not a qualifying component of evacuation. Any human-made cut, cavity, or depression in the earth’s surface is considered excavation. The hole from excavation can be any size, shape, or depth. Excavation is used to create foundations, reservoirs, drainage ditches, and roads. Long, narrow excavations are called trenches and are often used for underground utilities.
