Western Mechanical has been heating and cooling Cache Valley Homes for over 36 years. Since 1971, Western Mechanical, Inc. began serving the people and businesses of Cache Valley with heating, venting and air conditioning. The business was created by Milford John Egbert, with the influence of his youngest son Jack Egbert, as Egbert Heating. The two men worked out of a car port for their first few years before renting their first shop, then built their own shop in 1974. Milford retired in 1977 turning the business over to his boys. In 1994 the business name, Egbert Heating. was changed to Western Mechanical Incorporated. Today Western Mechanical is in its 3rd Generation. Western Mechanical, Inc. in Logan, Utah services residential homes and commercial businesses in the Cache Valley area which includes all of the towns from Avon, Paradise and Hyrum on the south to Smithfield, Richmond and Lewiston on the north. Western Mechanical, Inc. is expanding to serve towns in Idaho (Franklin and Preston) and in to Wyoming.

Traditionally, bungalows are single-story homes, although having a half or partial story on top of the first floor is common. While adding a second story to a bungalow is certainly possible, the home would no longer be considered a bungalow by the strictest definition.

It's possible to turn your carport into a living space, but there are additional factors to address over turning it into a garage. HVAC, plumbing, and electricity won't be optional, and you'll need finished flooring, drywall, trim work, and legal ceiling height, for starters. Also, keep in mind that living space conversions may require upgrading the foundation underneath, and the permits might be more expensive as well.

When hanging a door frame, it’s recommended that you use screws, not nails. Screws are more secure, easier to tighten, and easier to remove if you need to adjust the frame. Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.
