ABS pipes are made from a chemical called bisphenol (BPA) that may cause neurological and hormonal effects. While it’s possible to use an outdoor faucet in the winter, it might not be the best time to water your grass. Drawing water to your outdoor faucet increases the risk of that water freezing when you’re done with the faucet, especially if you don’t take the time to re-winterize your faucet. There are heated hose products you can buy to use in winter, but these can cost hundreds of dollars. It may be best to simply wait for the weather to warm up again.
