"Craig used extreme care during the entire process! He contacted each neighbor, informed them of work being done, and inquired if there were any structures/vegetation that needed to be protected. For those who had need, he built barriers to protect my neighbors' property. He kept his equipment and work areas organized and clean, maintained communication with me, treated my property with utmost respect, and he performed as his contract described. With the amount of work and care Craig was observed using, his rates/fees were more than fair! I will be using him again!"

If you have brush and trees that need to be removed before the fence can be installed, no problem I do that too! My name is Terrance Taylor. I have built and repaired many miles of fence while I was a cowboy so I understand the need of a well built fence that will last the test of time. I have 10+ years of experience. Building fence is my passion and I take pride in my work. I build it right the first time and Customer service is our #1! I also will bring in a small crew to help get the job done in a timely manner. I provide Free Estimates for our future clients and have very competitive pricing and will always be willing to work with you. For fair and accurate pricing I'm happy to come out to the job site and discuss what you would like done and to answer any questions you might have about the upcoming job at hand. I understand that the terrain can be difficult to get in and out of, and that's not a problem, If an area proves to be too difficult to get into with a vehicle, I have pack horses that can take the place of a motorized vehicle so there is no wasted time in hiking it all in on foot. I'm also am not afraid to sleep out on the range to get the job done. We have references from clients that we have completed jobs for, if you would like them.

"I have horses on a small acreage property. Most of the fencing that was present needed to be replaced. The acreage is on a mountain terrain with very little flat ground and in many places shallow rocky soil. Not the easiest fencing job in the world. Terrance had the expertise and background to install a sturdy fence complete with rock jacks and rock cribs for support that should be in good shape for 50+ years. Terrance returned phone calls quickly, came out and did a detailed estimate and started working immediately after getting all the required materials together. He and his crew worked long hours steadily from start to finish and completed the job in less than a week. From start to finish, Terrance was ready to answer any questions I had and if a problem arose during construction due to some aspect of the terrain and a change needed to be made he discussed the solution with me. Terrance was courteous and professional, has the expertise needed and completed the work described in the contract completely and promptly."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.

There are two things you can do to make a fence replacement easier—but keep in mind that easier doesn’t mean better. First, you can use a jack or some other type of machinery to pull the post out of the ground. If that’s not available, a digging bar can help.

Second, you can backfill the hole with gravel rather than creating a concrete footing. Keep in mind, gravel is less secure. You should only use it if you’re installing a lightweight fence or have heavier, clay soil.

The distance between fence posts is guided by the terrain you’re installing them on, the purpose of the fence, and the material it’s made of. For the average wooden garden fence, posts should be about 6 to 8 inches apart. But if you’re going with a mesh, wire, lattice, or chain link fence, you could set the fence posts anywhere from 6 to 25 feet apart.

Regular lawn care keeps snakes away because it eliminates common hiding places. You can deter snakes by trimming grass, shrubs, and trees and removing weeds from your lawn and gardens. Clear away leaves and other debris that could serve as a potential snake habitat. You can also seal entry points around building perimeters and install metal snake fencing.

While they can be closer, the maximum distance between fence posts for residential fences is 8 feet. This ensures the panels are adequately supported by the fence posts. This is usually dictated by the width of the panel, which is typically between 5 and 8 feet. While narrower panels will require more posts, they’ll be lighter and easier to work with than wider panels that are the same height.
