"David Furst. Very professional.I contacted Furst Woodworks back in Dec.2017 asked if would be available Feb 2018. I got hold of him two weeks before we were able to meet. He showed up one hour before to start which was great. We would recommend him 100%"

"We hired AKAL construction llc (aka ASV cabinets) to install cement board type siding on our house beacuse they were the most competitively priced. Sometimes when you go with the lowest bid, you "get what you pay for". But these guys were TOP NOTCH! They were on time, communicative, and worked fast and hard, and cleaned up everyday that they were here! They were also patient and understanding with change orders and material shortages. We will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for siding or any other trade work."

"Jeremy was fantastic. Extremely professional, knowledgeable. He installed our Schlage keyless door locks, hung our tv's and also hooks for coats in laundry room. He came prepared with all tools and everything he did was top notch perfect. We will ask Jeremy again for his services. I would recommend him to anyone as he has a wide range of experience for any home tasks or needs. Thanks again Jeremy!!!!! You were great."

Upholstering FAQs, answered by experts

Upholstering work in Emmett is especially sensitive to moisture control and UV protection. Overlooking moisture barriers can lead to mold growth during humidity swings, while skipping UV-resistant treatments causes fabrics to fade quickly in Idaho’s sun. Using improper foam density or adhesives may result in early breakdown, and neglecting to reinforce frames or springs can shorten furniture lifespan, especially during heavy winter use.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Emmett should start with smaller upholstering projects like kitchen or dining chairs, ottomans, or benches to build skills and see immediate results. Choose fabrics that resist fading and dryness, which are common in Idaho’s climate. Tackling these projects in fall or winter allows you to practice before moving on to larger items, ensuring your choices hold up well year-round.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Emmett often make mistakes like choosing fabrics that aren’t suited for the dry, sunny climate or neglecting UV protection, leading to premature fading. Skipping moisture-resistant adhesives can cause issues during seasonal humidity changes. Some underestimate the skill needed for upholstering work, while others overlook shipping times or costs for specialty materials, which can be longer in rural Idaho.

Helpful?

Well-executed upholstering projects in Emmett can enhance your home’s resale appeal by showcasing durability and comfort, which are highly valued in the local market. Updated upholstery on dining chairs, benches, or vintage pieces makes your home more attractive to buyers seeking move-in ready properties. Custom upholstering also helps your home stand out to newcomers or retirees looking for lasting, climate-appropriate furnishings.

Helpful?

To establish a seasonal inspection routine for upholstering work in Emmett, start by checking for dryness or cracking on leather and seams each spring after winter’s cold. In summer, inspect for fading or heat damage from strong sunlight. During fall, look for loose threads or weakened padding as you prepare for more indoor use. In winter, monitor for static, dryness, and extra wear from increased household activity.
