"They gave me a bid a couple weeks before, (I knew it was going to be a lot of work and not going to be cheap) I talked to the Tree service owner and asked if they could work out payments? with an acceptable down payment, they made it happen and spend all day in the cold, on a Friday, but didn't leave until all 4 Dead trees was cut down in a nice pile for me to try and offer for Sale, I also asked them to dump the shredded material near the stack so we could use it for land scraping cover over the next few years. the crew was very respectful and even put up with a complaining neighbor next door. they did a great job trying to clean up the area, which was in a challenging area to work in.

"Joe was professional, impressive, and efficient with getting my dead pine tree cut down behind my house in twin falls Idaho, before it could potentially cause major damage to my workshop garage that it was leaning towards. He was able to get into a tight area that would have been very tricky with big equipment. Luckily his tree climbing gear and skills got it knocked out that same afternoon. He was careful to make sure and gauge cuts right and anchoring of ropes so all tree limbs could be safely lowered to the ground without damaging/hitting anything on the way. And this was a pretty big and tall old pine, likely well over 50 years old and complicated multiple chutes from the top etc that made the job challenging to be safe. Joe is an excellent option when you want to support the little guy instead of big business. He's also personable and not pushy about his recommendations on work needing done. Worth every penny. Reasonable rates, dependable and I'll be recommending him to anyone in the future for all of their tree trimming needs in the magic valley Idaho and beyond."

"I've had this business contracted to mow, trim, and edge my lawn for over a year now. They are consistent and have always done a good job. If anything happens to cause a conflict with scheduling, they contact me to reschedule. I appreciate their attention to detail and when they see something that needs to be done, he will ask if I'd like it taken care of. I've even asked for other maintenance services here and there and they have gotten right on it. I'd recommend them to everyone."

"My deck was becoming detached from my house - but the deck boards were in good shape. Scott painstakingly removed all the deck boarding - reattached it securely - doing it right - to the house. He then put the puzzle back together - My deck is now in better condition then it was when it was first put up.. He did it all with in the time and budget that we agreed upon."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.

Trees that flower in the spring—like dogwood, cherry, magnolia, and pear—should not be pruned during the winter. These spring-flowering plants grow buds on old growth, so you’ll actually remove what would’ve been gorgeous flowering foliage. Instead, wait to prune until right after they bloom, when the flowers fade.

Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. In these cases, unless the trees are very young and small, it’s a good idea to consult a tree planting professional.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).
