"The DaBella representative Donald Davidson came to my house and inspected my roof. He showed me actual photos of the damage and explained how the new roof is constructed and how it functions with the vent system. Which is really an amazing system. I will recommend this company as I find Donald Davidson and this company very professional and innovative."

"Martin Tittes at MLT Inspections is the most thoughtful repairman I have used. When traffic held him up, he called to let me know. When he was on our property, he was constantly thoughtful and respectful. When he saw me struggling to move some furniture, he came to my rescue even though the task was unrelated to what he was hired to do. He was knowledgeable about types, styles and colors for roof tiles and helped with that selection. He knows the guidelines and rules for roofing jobs and made sure our roof complied. The job was done well, at a good price, and Martin and his crew were completely pleasant during the days they were doing the job. When they left, everything was cleaned up and just as we hoped. I highly recommend Martin at MLT inspections!"

"Aguila roofing was very professional and went out of their way to help me with a leaky roof in spite, an extremely short notice and the hectiness of the holidays. They were always on time and showed up when they said they would. Aguila roofing was a God's sent angel when I needed work done on my roof."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, all roofs can benefit from flashing. Roof flashing can protect a property from water damage, roof leaks, mold, and other serious issues. It’s vital if you’d like to extend the lifespan of your roof and avoid costly repairs down the road.

Tar and gravel roofs last an average of 30 years, which is longer than the average lifespan of many other flat roofs. The gravel on top of the waterproof membrane helps protect the roof from UV damage and physical damage, so if you keep your roof drains clear and carry out annual roof inspections to catch issues early, you could see up to 40 years of useful life from your roof.

While the terms are often used interchangeably, wood shakes and wood shingles have notable differences, primarily in their manufacturing and appearance. Wood shingles are machine-cut on both sides, resulting in a smooth, thin, and uniform product. In contrast, wood shakes are typically hand-split or sawed on only one side, giving them a more textured, natural, and rustic appearance. Due to these manufacturing differences, shakes are generally thicker, heavier, and less uniform than shingles. They are also more expensive. Homeowners seeking a more rustic aesthetic often choose shakes, while those preferring a more uniform look may opt for shingles. Both are installed in an overlapping pattern to create a durable, weather-resistant roof.

Yes, a roof blister can cause a leak if it gets to the point where it pops. Prior to popping, a roof blister is just an aesthetic issue, but once it pops, you’re left with a small hole in the shingle. Water from rain and snow can easily get inside this hole and interact with your underlayment, roof decking, and the building material below.

Some homes, like those with flat roofs, may not have eaves at all. Some contemporary-style homes also lack eaves, although many may have abbreviated eaves to divert water and protect the walls and foundation. Homes without eaves often have specific types of gutters affixed directly to the edge of the roof to provide adequate drainage.
