"From start to finish our move was top notch. Our movers were knowledgeable, adamant about careful handling of my Mom's furniture and precious belongings, and didn't waste a moment of time. This was not an easy move. We were down sizing my Mom into an assisted living apartment. There was a lot of heavy furniture to move around, China, glassware, artwork... 80 years of life. Some went to her new place, some to my house to be redistributed to family. As we moved everything into its new place some of our plans had to be altered. Our guys were very accommodating when we had to move a few pieces in, and then out again. It was obvious they had worked as a team before and handled everything efficiently, even offering me advice when I was a bit flabbergasted about what to do. Items were shrink wrapped, mattress bags used, and covered with moving blankets. This is what GOOD movers do. Shoddy ones will allow the customer to bully them into taking less care, but our guys were insistent that every"

"We moved from Canada to the U.S. as a family, and at first it felt like a lot to take on. The process moved forward steadily, our things were handled carefully, and nothing went missing or got damaged. Everything arrived in Denver when expected. For a move of this size and distance, it stayed manageable and didn?t turn into the chaos we were worried about."

"Our moving team was right on time, very efficient and respectful. They did an excellent job packing a very full truck for a cross country move. When we got there, nothing shifted, nothing broke. They were great, would highly recommend!!"

Boise, ID 12/31/2022 Find Moving Services - Local (Within State) One of the movers, Joe was extra amazing. I have alot of health problems so I take alot of prescribed medication. I lost track of them and was going crazy looking for them. Not only an hour after moving I recieved a call from JOE, advising he was concerned that I wouldnt find them. He stayed on the phone until he directed me to them. WOW, what customer service. I cant say enough about both movers Joe and James. They were very careful with my breakable items and everything else. They even took a moment to give a few belly rubs to my dog. So we all were very happy. Thank You"

Moving questions, answered by experts

The best ways to prepare for movers include decluttering and properly labeling boxes. Decluttering lessens the workload and ensures you are not bringing unwanted items into your new home. Labeling boxes lets movers know which rooms they belong in, reducing confusion when it's time to unpack.

Moving a house is a complex and labor-intensive process, which is why it can get so pricey, particularly if it’s a large home. In some cases, the house may need to be dismantled, moved in sections, and then reassembled at the new location, which can add significantly to the cost of the move. However, it’s typically less costly than building a new home.

If you don’t have dividers, wrap each wine glass individually using bubble wrap or packing paper to cushion both the bowl and delicate stem. Secure the wrapping with tape and place glasses upright in a sturdy box, layering soft items like dish towels, crumpled paper, or clothing between them to prevent shifting. Fill any gaps with padding to keep glasses snug, and label the box “FRAGILE–HANDLE WITH CARE” to ensure careful handling.

The most expensive part of moving is hiring professional movers. However, hiring a pro is more efficient and less stressful, so many people find the cost worth it. You’ll also spend a lot of money on packing supplies, including boxes, tape, and bubble wrap, so ask around to see if any friends or family members have old supplies you can use for free.

Renting a moving truck is often the cheapest way to move long-distance, with costs ranging from $1,000 to $2,100. For smaller moves with fewer items, a moving container can cost as little as $700. As the distance of your move increases, using moving pods or containers can become more cost-effective because you can ship them to your destination and avoid transportation costs like gas, mileage, and lodging.
