"They managed to work me into their schedule the same day and the technician Riven performed the repair. He was friendly, professional and accommodating! The price point was a little on the high end but for the work warranty and peace of mind that the work was guaranteed it was worth it. Im glad I chose them to do the work and will be using them again for any future plumbing work I may need. Highly Recommend!!"

"Great crew! Brandon came out the same day to look at our leaking water heater and gave us a quote. The next day techs came out and replaced it. They were really nice, quick, and competent! I would recommend Right Now to anyone."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

No, vinegar won't hurt PVC pipes. While vinegar is acidic, it’s not caustic enough to damage PVC. Pouring baking soda and vinegar down your drains is a great DIY solution for clearing minor clogs. If the problem isn’t resolved with vinegar and baking soda, it’s likely time to call in a pro. Avoid using more caustic solutions like drain cleaners, as these will damage PVC pipes, especially if there’s a clog.

Many homeowners stress about cleaning before an emergency plumber arrives, but you’re far better off doing the following while you wait for your plumber to get to your home:

  • Shut the water off at your water main if you have a leak or a burst pipe

  • Avoid using any water fixtures in your home, including appliances

  • Clear a path to the problem area so that it’s easily accessible

  • Consider shutting your breaker if you’re concerned that the leak may affect your electrical system

You can temporarily patch a leaking copper pipe using epoxy putty or adhesive tape. These are not permanent solutions, and you will eventually need to remove and replace the damaged portion of the pipe.

For a smaller pinhole, you can solder it closed using plumbing flux. Again, this is only a temporary solution, but it will give you time to hire a plumber and go over your options.

Pipes most often burst during winter and early spring because those seasons experience the coldest temperatures that can freeze pipes. Pipes typically begin to freeze when the outside temperature falls below 20 degrees Fahrenheit—but it’s not a hard and fast rule.

The largest risk is any period of time when outdoor temperatures fall below freezing for six hours or more. That’s an average winter night in many areas of the United States, so it’s best to take precautions before winter begins, like insulating your pipes.

According to the EPA, there is no safe level of lead in the blood, and so the maximum contaminant level goal (MCLG) for lead in water is zero. Even at low levels, lead is harmful to human health. It can also remain in the body and build up over time with repeated exposure.
