"We had drywall damage during last summer's hailstorm. After our roof and siding repair, I needed repair in an upstairs bedroom ceiling and wall and in our three season porch and ceiling. The fit me in a cancellation appointment and had the repairs completed before the end of the week. They matched the orange peel textured ceilings perfectly and so the repairs are not evident. FYI: they do not prime or restore paint."

"These guys are the absolute best. Adam and his team showed up when they said they would to finish our daycare drywall. They even went above and beyond fixing some of my poor drywork before finishing. I would highly recommend."

"Timing was great. They got back to us right away. Started working fast. When they got done they cleaned the basement and left it better than what it was. The drywall was done very well. Totally recommend"

Customers say: True professional

"I used Scott's Home Renewal for a first floor renovation about three years ago, was pleased and hired them again for this. Not the cheapest contractor, but definitely the best I have used here. First class professionals; first rate subs, especially the tile and glass people The custom glass door arrived with the wrong specs, and the glass contractor got the factory to make a new one with only one day of waiting.. If you want it done right, contact Scott's."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Applying plaster to a wall will usually cost between $2 and $10 per square foot for both the material and labor. The cost will vary based on the quality of the plaster you’re using and whether or not prep work is required before the work begins. Wall prep can add up to about 10% to your total costs. Plastering exterior walls can be more expensive in many cases because they are taller and require scaffolding and safety equipment.

Yes, drywall nail pops are a common occurrence in homes, both new and old, resulting from the settling and shifting of the structure over time. Though not present in every room or on every wall, encountering nail pops in different sections of a home is not unusual, particularly if the temperature, humidity, or foundation has experienced changes.

Venetian plaster is a highly durable wall finish that becomes a rock-like substance once dried, making it last longer than most other wall finishes. Its lifespan can range from decades to centuries, potentially lasting a lifetime. Key factors influencing its longevity include the quality of the initial application, whether it's properly sealed against moisture, and how the wall is maintained and treated (e.g., how often it is touched or bumped). Due to its mineral content, it can also develop a patina over time.

Most drywall used for interior walls of homes is 1/2-inch thick. This size strikes a balance of being easy to handle and hang while being thick enough for the durability needed on interior wall applications.

Costs depend on labor, material quality, wall preparation, and finishing requirements.
