"I had a wonderful experience with Five Star Bath Solutions! From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. The owner Nathan was extremely helpful, professional and followed through with everything he said including start time and completion of work to get done. Rob did the work, and he did an absolutely amazing job. He was friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, detailed, and clearly takes pride in his work. The finished result looks beautiful, and everything was completed with great care and quality. I would highly recommend Five Star Bath Solutions to anyone looking for excellent service and a job done right!"

"Jake and his team did an amazing job on installing our floors. We’re renovating our home and had our master bedroom/closet switched from carpet to laminate floors. The team was professional, answered all our questions, and completed the job as planned. They did such an amazing job that they’re also going to do the kitchen backsplash and plumbing once the countertops come in. I’m really happy with everything thus far and look forward to working with Jake and his team in the upcoming weeks. I highly recommend Picture Perfect for any of your renovation needs."

Plumbing FAQs, answered by experts

No, you can’t convert a gravity-flush toilet to a pressure-assist toilet. Pressure-assist toilets include a tank-within-the-tank, and a standard gravity-flush toilet doesn’t have a capability to include the additional tank. If you want the benefits of a pressure-assist toilet, you’ll have to make the investment in a new one.

No, it’s not safe to use a blowtorch or any open flame to thaw pipes. The intense heat can cause the pipe to burst and/or start a fire, leading to very costly damage. Instead, use safer external heating alternatives, such as heat tape, a space heater, or an infrared lamp.

Yes. There are a variety of standard pipe sizes used in plumbing. The main supply line connecting your home to the street is either 3/4 or 1 inch in diameter. Supply lines are 3/4 inch in diameter. Individual components are 1/2 inch in diameter. Meanwhile, your main drainpipe is often 4 inches wide. Most shower and bathtub drains are 2 inches in diameter, most toilet drains are 3 inches in diameter, and most sink drainpipes are 1 1/4 or 1 ½ inches in diameter.

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

Drain pipes carry wastewater from sinks, toilets, showers, and other fixtures to the main sewer line. They’re typically located within the walls and floors and beneath a home’s foundation. Meanwhile, sewer pipes transport collected wastewater to a septic tank or a municipal sewer system.
