"I ordered the deal and received the template and order sheet in about a week. Since this was right before Christmas, I waited until after the holidays to actually measure the table, but this was the only delay in the process. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. All that was involved was measuring the length and width of the table, noting these dimensions and the measurements of extension leaves on the order sheet and then tracing the table's outline on the paper provided. There were also color choices for the top vinyl and bottom velvet coverings. There were also accessories available for order at additional cost (I didn't order any extras). I mailed the template and order form in the postage paid envelope included. I had selected normal shipment (3-5 weeks) and the table pads and extension leaf arrived within that time. The product quality is excellent and the color match to the samples is true. I could not be happier with the finished product and the value of this purchase."

"We had a small water stain on the interior ceiling of an upstairs hallway. After exploring the attic, I determined that moisture was entering around a vent pipe. The roof was sixteen years old so I thought a new roof may be in order. We visited several roofing companies at the Des Moines Home and Garden Show. We had four or five companies come out to analyze the roof and tell us what was need. All the companies suggest a new roof and gave us quotes. All were within the same range basically for like materials and labor.
I looked to Angie?s List for a review of each company. In researching these companies, I stumbled on Des Moines Area Roofing and owner, Tim Wolfswinkel. One particular review resonated with me so I contacted Tim. I scheduled an appointment with him.
He came at the designated time, and we discussed my roof. Tim was the only contractor who indicated that the roof had additional years of life remaining. He identified several items that needed to be addressed. Tim said that if the roof was his, he?d fix the problems rather than replacing the roof.
Tim followed up promptly with a quote for the repair work and a quote for a replacement roof. I thought his quote for the repair work was very reasonable for the work needed. His quote for the replacement roof was slightly less that the other contractors for like materials and labor.
We accepted the quote for the repair work, and I anticipated that I?d be place on a schedule for completion at a future date. The day that I accepted the quote, Tim contacted me and said that another customer need to push back his project, and he wondered if they could complete our work that afternoon. Naturally, I said ?yes? as I wanted the roof repaired prior to spring rains. Tim first look at our project on a Wednesday morning and sent me a quote electronically that very same day. I agree to the pricing and the work on a Friday morning and the work was completed that same Friday afternoon.
If you are looking for roof replacement or repair; shop around, get several quotes, filter Angie?s List by grade and number of reviews. You will find Des Moines Area Roofing near the top of those filters. Call Tim Wolfswinkel before you make any decisions about repair or replacement.

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

Yes, most designers tailor plans to fit your budget. Discuss financial constraints during initial consultations.

Most Greek Revival architecture homes are one and a half to two stories, depending on the footprint, which sets them apart from some Federal architecture homes that are three stories. The gabled roof on the second floor can sometimes cut into the living space, especially on smaller homes of this style, which leaves a much smaller living area upstairs.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

Regular meetings, reviewing drafts, and providing input on materials help align the project with your vision.

When planning a general remodeling project, it's important to define the scope of work, understand your goals, and set a clear, detailed budget. You should also assess the current structure and consult with professionals like architects or contractors. Create a realistic timeline for each phase, obtain any necessary permits, and build in contingency plans for potential delays or unforeseen issues. Regular communication with all involved parties is crucial to streamline the process.
