"I am pleased to refer Chris Miller for any home painting project, from simple to detailed, that you may be considering. Chris painted my villa condo's large deck, railing, and pergola with excellent preparation and skill. He left the site tidy while work was in progress and cleaned up after himself when the job was completed. I was very pleased with the results of Chris's work and hired him to come back a few weeks later to do a few other small painting projects for me. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Chris Miller Contracting LLC to anyone looking for a friendly professional painter. tidy while the work was in progress and made sure to clean up after the job was completed. "This company was very professional and reasonable on the price. The crew that came in was in and out of here within three days and gave us a beautiful bathroom. We had new flooring, vanity, shower, toilet, and lights put in and the bathroom painted. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely be calling them for more projects in the future."

"We were nothing but impressed from our first interaction with Ken and Linda Buford.  They returned our initial call immediately and even came out that night to assess the project's time and cost.  We received a written estimate and paint samples in very timely manner.  Once we scheduled the job, Ken and Linda worked as a team to prep and paint the area.  Their attention to detail was evident from the start of the work.  The work was extremely thorough and done quickly.  I would consider myself a "picky" client and they definitely exceeded my expectations. The edging and trim work were clean and the lines were impeccable. They use 2 coats of quality paint.  They cleaned up everything and left no messes. I appreciated that they listened carefully to what we wanted done, gave us some suggestions and delivered a beautiful end result.  There was nothing I would have had them do differently.  Anymore, I don't think you find many talented, true professionals, like Ken, who can deliver such stellar results.  I would recommend them beyond a shadow of a doubt.  In fact, because they did such a fantastic job, we are having them paint the outside of our house as well."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Moisture and rot are the largest threat to wooden fences. Stain can help your wood fence last 15 to 20 years, but only if you choose a stain with waterproofing qualities or add a sealant. Oil-based stains create a thicker moisture barrier than water-based stains, though both are mold and mildew resistant. You’ll generally need to re-stain your fence every one to eight years to get full protection.

Yes, many repair services include repainting to match the color of the existing siding or walls. Most professionals offer this service to ensure the repaired area blends in seamlessly.

Acrylic latex paint is the best option to use on your outdoor wrought iron fence, because it holds up well against the elements. Use a high-quality, exterior-grade paint specifically designed for use on metal. You can choose between spray paint or regular liquid paint. As for primer, it's best to use an oil-based and rust inhibiting option before painting your wrought iron fence.

On most untreated wood fences, there is no need to sand before treating. You typically only need to sand if there’s an old coat of paint or stain on your fence. If you do need to sand off a previous paint or protective coating (like an old stain or sealant), use medium-grit sandpaper.

Maintaining a composite fence is pretty straightforward, as it doesn’t require staining or repainting. To keep it clean, scrub the fencing with a composite deck cleaner or hot, soapy water. Use a soft-bristle brush for the best results, and avoid using pressure washers or sanders. Plan to clean your fence at least twice a year. Scrubbing the fencing in the fall and spring can help prevent mold and mildew growth.
