Customers say: True professional

"The start and completion of the work by Joy was acceptable until I discovered that my dishwasher had been rendered unworkable. Something happened to my dishwasher while Mariluce and her daughter were moving pots and pans in the bottom of the cabinet next to the dishwasher. I noticed Mariluce (I hope I spelled her name right) was pressing a button on the dishwasher while I was trying to make the payment on Zelle, but I didn t address it because I was trying to get the payment through Zelle since it was my first time paying your company. I did not see the error message before they left. Mariluce did not make me aware of the problem before she left even though she was pressing the button numerous times with me unaware that she was trying to correct the problem. I tipped them $26.00 which was in addition to the $10 on the receipt not knowing that they were leaving me with a nonworking nearly new dishwasher. I need my dishwasher repaired as soon as possible at no cost to us. It is only about a year old. It was working when Mariluce and her daughter arrived. I used it the night before. Now it is showing an error code and will not operate. I am uploading photos of the error code and a photo showing that it was purchased on 8/8/2025. It was installed by a plumber and it was working properly before the work by Joy Cleaning. I tipped them 26 dollars thinking that the work in the kitchen was done properly."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Clean your stainless steel sink at least once a week or after a particularly messy meal prep. Additionally, deep clean your sink twice a month to catch built-up grime, food stains, or hints of rust. Add both basic and deep cleans to your weekly kitchen cleaning checklist to stay on top of any odors, drain issues, or bacteria.

You should clean the ashes from your wood stove at least once a week during the heating season to maintain efficiency and safety. Additionally, it's crucial to have a professional clean the chimney and flue annually to remove creosote buildup, which can pose a fire hazard and affect the stove's performance. Regular cleaning ensures optimal operation and reduces the risk of harmful emissions.

As a general rule, you should clean your oven at least every three months, though this depends on how often you use it and the amount of residue buildup. A clear sign that your oven needs cleaning is if you notice smoke or a burning smell during use. Many ovens have a self-cleaning cycle, which heats the oven to an extreme temperature. If you use this feature, stay home while it runs and consider ventilating the room, as it can create smoke. For manual cleaning, you can make a paste of baking soda and water or use white vinegar before resorting to harsher, store-bought oven cleaners.

Ensure there’s a way to flush out excess water from the generator. There will either be a bin you can pull to dump water down the drain or a simple button if your generator is hooked up to a drainage pipe.

Ideally, you’ll want to drain after every shower, but there will be a mark on the generator that shows how much water it can hold. Failing to drain the generator can lead to automatic shut-offs or damage.

If you're already planning to hire an electrician and you know that you'll get billed the minimum call-out charge, you might as well make the most of it by having the contractor do another small job like replacing a light switch or electrical outlet. Even if you're paying for a new coaxial outlet, which costs several hours in labor, you may be able to save a little or maximize value by getting them to do other related jobs. For example, if you're having a coaxial cable moved, it's worth checking if you also need another electrical outlet in the new location or considering where else you would benefit from a new outlet . The cost to install an electrical outlet is around $200.
