"It went as well as I could have hoped. I found a photo of the garage I liked on his FB page...we wanted something that would match our house built in 1940, and the photo I found on his page couldn't have been more perfect. Dustin showed up on a Saturday with his crew and built the entire thing from scratch in a day and a half. Cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. Overall, he did an amazing job and as a result I am the envy of my neighborhood. Would highly recommend.

"First off I must say, I’m very satisfied with this company! The owner Jr was very professional and knowledgeable. He came out to give me a quote the next day after we spoke on the phone. His quote was very reasonable, and he had my new deck completed in a timely manner. He communicated with my husband and I every step of the way. We did notify Jr of our cows and horses, to be on the lookout for them, bc we do let them roam our property at times, he was so careful around the animals and our house. We’re very happy with the outcome of our large deck! It sure is beautiful! Thank you so much Hands Down Construction and Fencing! We look forward to using this company again in the future for other projects!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a fence can range from 5 to 50 years, depending heavily on the material, local climate, and how well it is maintained. For example, a wooden fence might last 7 to 15 years, while a vinyl fence typically lasts 20 to 30 years. Metal, composite, and glass fences have some of the longest lifespans. Proper maintenance, such as regular cleaning, inspections, and staining or sealing for wood, is key to extending the life of any fence material. Vinyl and composite are durable options that don't require sealing.

Common problems include cracks, warping, and loose panels. Regular cleaning prevents discoloration and wear.

If you hire a fence installer for the project, the time it takes to build a fence is about 20 to 30 hours. Tackling the project yourself will take around 40 to 50 hours. It can take longer if you need to obtain permits, level the ground, remove the old fence, or remove a tree.

Wattle fences are typically around 4 feet tall, but they can be built taller or shorter depending on their intended use. Taller fences may require additional reinforcements, such as thicker posts or tighter weaving, to ensure the fence’s stability and durability against wind and other elements.

Wrought iron is durable, secure, and adds an elegant aesthetic to its properties.
