"A wonderful experience all around! We had 15 windows and a sliding glass door replaced. Our Salesperson, Harlan, was very professional and explained the benefits of the new windows and all about Power as a company. The installers arrived on time and completed the entire job in a day! Everything was installed perfectly and the crew was courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Erin came to visit the next day to make sure everything was up to their standards and addressed any questions we had. Most certainly the best experience we've ever had with a home contractor. Highly Recommend!"

"Brent Russell was the design consultant and was very through presenting the estimate. Matt and John showed up on time the first day and did an awesome job starting the shower remodel. Matt showed up on time the second day and finished the shower remodel by himself. Awesome! The team was professional and courteous. Matt made sure that we were satisfied before leaving. They cleaned up the site as well."

"We LOVE our new fence! Michael and his team installed a wood fence with a drive-thru gate for the road facing portion of the project with black chain link for the rest and a couple more gates. Our yard has odd slopes in places that gave me doubts whether the wood fence would look right, but it was installed perfectly in line with the slopes; none of the fence boards look awkwardly spaced or leave weird gaps at the ground. The drive-thru gate is incredibly sturdy and set up to where I KNOW will be for a long, long time. Although I didn't mention at the time, I had extreme concerns with one of the back corners and thought there was no way the chain link fence could work right with the way the ground level just drops - I still cannot believe how great it looks!! The way they worked this chain link fence on these slopes and through trees is like magic. Throughout the installation, Michael kept us updated on the progress. There were a handful of times he ran into situations where what we wanted may not work out like we want it to; he explained things to us "in layman's terms," provided suggestions of the best way to get what we want based on his professional experiences and gave us the option to go ahead with what we originally requested or with a suggested route. His suggestions always made sense and I'm grateful he had the professional knowledge to recognize potential issues and bring it to our attention along with a solution instead of just continuing along. Even with those situations (and 100° extreme heat warnings,) our fence install was completed within the week and it is exactly what we wanted... actually - even better than what we wanted! We will request Platinum Landscaping & Construction for projects and recommend them 100% any time we can from here on out! THANK YOU Michael & team for the hard work and quality job!!! It is amazing and I literally could not be happier with our new, beautiful!!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace the screen without removing the door in most cases depending on the frame holding the screen. Doors with removable spline and screen frames make it a snap to replace the mesh while the door remains in place. The best part is that it’s a simple DIY project requiring a few tools in addition to the screen material.

Rescreening a door costs an average of $7 to $150. It’s a relatively easy process that only requires 30 minutes to an hour’s work.

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.

No, but removing window screens will achieve a deeper clean. If you aren’t sure how to remove your screens, you can still clean them while in your window. You can follow the same cleaning steps, but you may not be able to get into corners or struggle to clean the entire screen if the window is up high.

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.
