"To start out with, I'm very insulted by these false accusations. I have several text messages to support the fact that her statements aren't true. We had a lengthy discussion over the phone before I even scheduled her appointment and she texted me 26 pictures of her project. I arrived early on the day of her appointment because she supposedly had to be some place and I wanted to make sure we could review everything before she left. As per our discussion on the phone, I was supposed to install 3 prehung interior doors and 1 exterior prehung door. Somehow that changed in the half hour it took me to drive to her residence. Now she decides that she just wants me to pull the frames out so that her exterminator can look at her ant problem. I told her I would not do that since I would be pulling all of my tools out for less than 10 minutes worth of work. I was prepared to leave at this point, she seemed to be very disingenuous. (turns out I was right) So she said alright we'll pull out all 4 frames and install 2 interior prehung doors and 1 exterior prehung door which she had already purchased (I was just doing the installation). She left me there with her mother and I proceeded doing the work. By the time she got back I was done, for the most part. At this point she did not want me to finish the exterior door because she wanted the exterminator to be able to see underneath it. So I was going to tack the trim on the inside of the exterior door to prevent bugs & air from getting in since she told me she didn't want it finished because she wanted the exterminator to get in there. So how in the world can she complain about something she told me not to do?! The door in question fit in the opening so tightly there was barely room for any shims. I explained to her both on the job and in text later on that after the exterminator had finished I would come in and put stucco underneath the threshold and on the sides of the door. I even explained that she could watch the process if she wanted to. She stopped me from doing the very thing she was complaining about. Somehow she thinks you can stucco a door before you put it in when it's so tight you could barely get shims in it. 100 out of 100 door installers would disagree with that statement. She also states the price of the project incorrectly. The project was $840.00 but she only paid $420.00 even though 90% of the work was done. After she wrote the check she showed me another door she wanted me to work on. Why would you do that if you considered me rude, mean, and disrespectful? I don't believe she has or had any intention of resolving this matter once she realized she could take advantage of a contractor who was just trying to do the right thing. I have a text on my phone which I sent her that states I would take care of all of her concerns once I come back. She's never called me back but instead she does this. Her only text after that was a threat to discredit me on Angies List. News flash for you and for Angies List (or whatever you are now), people can see right through this. Shame on you. There are almost 250 reviews here that prove it. Good, well-intention-ed, honest customers."
