"We were delighted with Matt and his quality of work on our bathroom remodel. We hired Legacy to take over an ongoing project when our prior (non Angi) contractor left us mid-project. Matt was able to salvage a poor start from previous guy and achieve our vision. He was patient, detailed and worked hard every day. He laid tile for our floor, shower, and half wall while also installing a free standing tub and repainting our vanity. I would definitely recommend Legacy Refinishing and Tile to anyone. We were very demanding and Matt delivered. Before and after photos show going from dull contractor brown to updated modern bathroom."

"So so pleased with LR Tile. I had a very specific look I was going for with my glass tile backsplash. Full wall, horizontal stacked bond. And they nailed it. Went above and beyond to make sure the work was impeccable quality, and performed in a timely manner. I am overjoyed with the outcome. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Superb craftsmanship and highly recommend! Will hire again!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"Arbor Floors is a family operated business, which I prefer. You don't deal with someone who hires someone else to do the job. Victor and his team did a great job refinishing our hardwoods and installing baseboards. They were very professional and respectful. Arbor Floors is my go to flooring contractor."

"No job is too difficult for them. Mr. Ross is pleasant to deal with and do not treat you like you donâ t know anything or charge more because you are a female. It happened before on other projects until I found Topstar Renovations. I have and will continue to refer them to all my friends. Highly recommend!"

"Great quality work at a fair price. We are very happy with our shower and bath tile project. We had some plumbing that had to be done and Raphael helped us find a plumber to resolve all issues at a reasonable price and not delaying the project. Highly recommended."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Using caulk is one of the simplest and most recommended methods to finish glass tile edges. It creates an elegant seam between the glass tile and the adjacent area, along with a waterproof seal. With this method, you want to use a caulk color that matches the grout and, along with the grout, compliments the tile. Make sure the caulk line is smooth and even. Alternatively, you can use a bullnose or tile trimming to edge, however, that will also require caulk to seal.

Tile countertops can last up to 100 years when properly maintained. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most durable types and can last as long as natural stone countertops like granite, marble, and quartz. Tile countertops are much cheaper than natural stone countertops, making them an excellent option for a homeowner with a limited budget.

Regardless of the material, basic square tiles will never go out of style. Neutral colors like white, grey, beige, and black will always be in demand in residential and commercial settings. Certain designs, like herringbone and hexagonal patterns, are considered timeless. Porcelain and porcelain-like tiles will also never go out of style.

Whether you use a brush or roller depends on the size, shape, and amount of tiles. Rollers are easier to maneuver over large areas and can apply a more even coat of paint in a shorter time frame with no visible brushstrokes. Brushes are best for precision work, particularly in very small areas. If you don't want visible brushstrokes on your painted tiles, you can paint details with small foam brushes instead of bristled paint brushes.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.
