"I was having a problem with my surround sound system. I am not very technical when it comes to diagnosing problems. Leisure Tecnologies contaced me promptly to discuss my situation and set up an appoinment. Derek was right on time for the appointment and actually called prior to arriving. He spent about 45 minutes testing the system and diagnosing the problem. It turned out the receiver was defective. Derek worked with me to select a replacement receiver that would fit with the speaker setup I have. We set up a follow up appointment where Derek would install the new receiver. I was very satisfied with the service."

"Absolutely perfect flooring and installation. This company is very reliable, honest, and professional. My husband and I are extremely satisfied with our new flooring they installed in our home. They also installed the same flooring in our large closet and we just love the pattern placement too. And pricing is reasonable and they take pride in their work which you don’t find with many companies. Would highly recommend them."

Install Central Vacuum questions, answered by experts

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

Technically, yes, you could install a central vacuum system on your own, but it is a very difficult DIY. There is a significant amount of planning, cutting into walls, and electrical wiring work that goes into it, which should only be performed by a professional. Because of the difficulty and expense associated with a central vacuum system, it’s worth it to hire a professional company familiar with the installation's complexities.

For the average-size house, a central vacuum installation usually takes one day of work by a team of professionals. Large houses may take two or more days. But if you are planning on a DIY project, it’s likely to take much longer. We suggest getting a few estimates for a project this big and fully understanding all the requirements before you make a decision about installation. Certain parts of your house may not be usable during the installation, and you may want to make other plans.

Whether talking about a whole-house central vacuum or a portable vacuum cleaner, the expected cost of major repair work should always be balanced against its replacement cost. However, excluding high-cost motor replacements or major electrical trouble, repairs on a central vacuum system are typically far less than the cost of purchasing and installing a new one.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.
