Customers say: Quality work

"My stucco repair was done without me having to be there. I was kept informed of ongoing work via texted pictures as repairs were being done. I was very pleased with the finished product. The stucco finish looked great and the stucco color matched the original. Great Job and reasonable price!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Derrick of Humphreys Construction made and replaced my stucco mailbox that had been destroyed by a truck hitting it. Derrick had a very fair price and was very accommodating and timely in initial contact and follow up. The quality of the mailbox was beautiful! I also asked him to look at damage on my stucco house and hired him for that as well."

"I contacted Luis through Angi to get some bird holes in our stucco repaired. On his own, because they were in the neighborhood, they came by the house (we weren't home) and surveyed the outside and then texted me with an estimate. When they arrived for work, they not only fixed the stucco, but we found that they could do other things as well...they pressure-washed the stucco and stone we have surrounding the house, and they made some other repairs to correct an issue we were having with rainwater getting into the house. They are very proactive but certainly didn't suggest anything we didn't actually need. No pressure, just trying to be helpful. Good quality work. Paint was well-matched on the stucco. Reasonable prices. When it comes to your house, you want the job done RIGHT!"

"We needed to get the house painted and started reading various reviews, trying to decide who to call for a couple of estimates. We contacted BMCP and Zach stopped by a few days later to discuss. I like the fact he listened to what I wanted & expected, and sent over a detailed quote in a couple of days, which also included a few upgrade options if we wanted them. We signed the contract and scheduled the work for a few weeks. After a few weather delays, the first crew arrived and painted. We had some issues with their work, and Rob, the owner came by to discuss. He agreed that it was not up to the BMCP standards and had the work done over, and the end result was excellent. The important take away is Rob & his company stood by their work, and have a longer warranty on their work than the other quotes. We will contact them again when we get ready for some interior painting."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

If your windows are losing efficiency from wearing out or experiencing leaks on rainy days, it may be time to consider replacing them. Window replacement costs run between $180 and $410 per window but may be on the higher end for homes with stucco siding since stucco will likely require more time and special tools for replacement.

All of the components of stucco are non-combustible, so the siding material won’t ignite or spread fire to the interior of your home. However, it also expands and contracts with changes in temperature, so it will crack from long exposure to heat. Eventually, fire will spread through those cracks. Still, stucco is one of the best siding materials for fire protection and can keep you and your family safe for an hour, on average.

The average cost of stucco siding is $5,400, ranging from $2,200 to $8,840. Stucco is worth the investment, provided you have the work done by a professional. Not only is stucco an attractive and durable siding material that boosts your home’s curb appeal, but it’s also more energy-efficient than most other siding options, it’s fire-resistant, water-resistant, and more affordable to repair down the road.

Stucco is very challenging to DIY, so it’s always best to leave the work to professional stucco contractors. The same recommendation applies to painting a stucco house, which should be left in the reliable hands of a professional exterior painter. Inexperienced DIYers can make several critical mistakes during stucco application, such as:

  • Failing to apply sufficiently thick layers for longevity and water resistance

  • Uneven application

  • Uneven texture across the exterior

  • Mixing the stucco improperly, leaving a weak structure

  • Failing to texture properly in between coats, leading to cracking and chipping

Quikrete will set without mixing. The process of pouring dry concrete into your concrete form and then adding water is called dry pouring. While this method makes pouring concrete simpler and easier, it reduces its strength and durability. It can be a viable option for small, decorative concrete pavers for walkways or for setting fence posts, but it’s not ideal for pouring slabs that will bear any significant amount of weight.
