"I am absolutely THRILLED with the Oasis team that built my screened-in porch and handled additional projects. Not only did they transform my porch into a beautiful space with meticulous attention to detail and top-notch craftsmanship, but they also impressed me with their proactive approach and professionalism. Throughout all my projects, they communicated effectively, providing daily pictures and videos to keep me updated on progress. They consistently arrived on time, worked diligently, and even put in extra hours to ensure everything was done right. Their polite demeanor and commitment to cleaning up daily were greatly appreciated. Impressed by the quality of their work, I also hired them to landscape my front yard with new sod and mulch, which they completed in a day, even in the 98-degree Georgia heat! What truly sets them apart is their attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond. While working on my porch, they noticed some rotten decking and lifting shingles on my roof, promptly providing me with pictures and video. I entrusted them with that job, and the very next day, without hesitation, they resolved the issue swiftly and efficiently. I am thoroughly impressed with their versatility, expertise, and dedication to delivering exceptional results. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this crew for any construction or landscaping project. They are not just contractors; they are trustworthy professionals who genuinely care about their work and their clients. I am a client for life!"

"I chose HDEZ Gabinets for my owner suite bathroom remodel. This contractor provided an all inclusive price for demo, subfloor repair, plumbing, electrical work, painting, custom cabinetry and shower glass. Some items were included or I received a credit if I provided the item myself. The subcontractors cleaned up as they worked and protected our home. The price was more than fair and Pedro stands by his work. Our bathroom is beautiful and we are already thinking about getting our kitchen done. I researched Pedro and his company thoroughly before hiring him. Because of my job, I need to trust who was brought in my home and I also see contractors take advantage of people. I wanted to be as certain as I could about this company. Added a couple of before pics to see the transformation."

"Trevor has been an amazing contractor who has helped us through the process of installing a large interior door for an office. He has helped ensure the space was properly prepared for installation of the door. The other contractors who have assisted Trevor have also exceeded my expectations. They have been extremely detail oriented and have done everything to ensure the best outcome. I would definitely work with Trevor for any future projects."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

For maximum stability, install grab bars on wall studs, as this will adequately support the weight. However, if you don't have access to studs, you can get by with wall anchors. If opting for the latter, choose specialty hollow wall anchors.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.
